How many more people will now become City fans?

We saw City play at Chelsea this fall and while not Manchester it was still amazing. We were seated right next to the away section so felt like we were with you. I can’t really describe what its like (without seeming terribly cheesy) to see people you’ve watched on TV for years play in person. We were only a few rows back and could hear and see so well. Magical seems trite, but it was. When Ederson came to warm up my 9 yo just kept saying, “I can’t believe it’s him.” We want to come to the Etihad next year - but I want to sit with some long term fans so I have the full experience! City needs to sell that as a hospitality package -
Champions again, Ole

The most popular song at the moment seems to be "Champions Again."

These are the words:

Champions Again, Ole Ole
Champions Again, Ole Ole
Champions Again
Champions Again
Champions Again, Ole Ole

Repeat
Repeat
Repeat
Repeat
Fade.....and stop.

With it only containing four words it's quite easy to memorise.

That article was great, funny to think how different it would be if written today. The writer has Manchesters ‘vacation potential’ as a big fat N-O, yet the New York Times have just placed Manchester 12th on the best places in the world to visit in 2024 - the only English city listed!

I did find it strange how spurs seemed to have a surprisingly big following in the US, I wonder how much influence this article might have had?
The author had quite a following and went on to start a media company with a popular podcast, website, etc. Also wrote several very well regarded books. So I do think men in their late 40s/early 50s would have been easily influenced by him. Especially Red Sox fans - who were particularly big readers at the time. I also think liking Spurs is a way for US fans to show they are “real” football fans, as it’s not one of the biggest clubs. I think it has a little bit of trendy appeal here.

As a new glory hunting fan girl, just some perspective. I live in the Boston area and we have a MLS franchise - but with traffic it’s still over 90 minutes away. I’d much rather watch higher quality football on TV (we do support local sports - we have season tickets to the Major League Baseball team in town). My kids have been lucky enough to see Brazil, Argentina and City play. Unfortunately the MLS just isn’t the same - and even my 9 yo knows it. I don’t think people in Europe know how lucky they are to have accessible, good football at multiple levels - that’s close to their house with engaged crowds. I don’t really think anything in the US compares (maybe college American football?).
Do you ever take the Maine Road up to Portland?

After that dominant display and those high quality goals I would say millions!
