Ive never understood the english obsession with being "half irish" etc. Loads of people at school used to bullshit about there mum and dad being irish and stuff, dont get it!

I tried that once!!

Dunno why I wasn't believed...

not me,can't be doing with all that blarney stuff.i don't even go in Irish bars, the day i spent in Dublin was one of the worst days of my life.Sorry but i don't subscribe to it

Don't subscribe to what? Not being argumentative for the sake of it, just don't understand.

If you're saying you don't like Irish people, then thats your prerogative but I think they're no better or worse (on the whole) than the rest of the world.

If you're saying you don't like Irish stereotype bars and tourist gubbins, then I think a lot of Irish people would agree with you!

welsh ;p

one of my ancestors was Sir Thomas Duke, some welsh nobleman who went over to Ireland and nicked a load of land (apparantly)

The name Duke is still a fairly popular name in Ireland, although most descend from welsh celtic not irish celtic

We use to have a red setter and I also consume a fair bit of guinness....So I consider myself has having one foot in the door.
