4 wins will do it.

If Spuds & Villa are included in them 4 wins then it's a cert as I can't see Spuds getting much joy when they play the top 3 the way they defended against Sunderland, and it would be mathematical impossible for Liverpool & Villa to catch us.

Just read some comments on 'redandwhitekop', just want to share some of them with you, enjoy your reading.

Haven't given up yet but I'm going more by heart than head.
Makes my stomach churn but I hope Utd stuff City in the derby. Still, it means us stringing together a winning streak which we are struggling.

I think it will goto last game of the season with City away to West ham who will be already relagated us away to Hull and City will get the win they need. And this god awful season will be over and with a new manager we can prepare for next season and the focus on trying to get into 4th spot.

Still hoping for the best, will take some doing, but City have it to lose, and I cant see them losing three games out of six.

I hate football.

The problem is, Villa, City and Spurs ALL have a better chance than us, due to games in hand etc.  To expect all three to implode is asking a lot.  And even when they do drop points (like Spurs yesterday, City at home to Everton), we fail to seize the initiative by dropping points ourselves.
I don't think Villa will make it.  Spurs have a nightmare set of fixtures.  City will be the ones we need to keep looking at and hope and pray drop points.

Shit season and don't think we'll get 4th. Just hope we can keep hold of our top players

can't see us as 4th, firstly as there is no chance we'll win all 5 and because city will not drop the points we need them to. they've got 3 or 4 strikers in good form and they'll pick up more points than us, being ahead already with a game in hand.
sad times.

Even if Spurs, Villa and City all drop enough points I can still see us losing points to Burnley and Hull. Our away form has been so poor this season, that I can defiantly see it happening. No matter how shite Burnley were against City, I can see us getting beat.

Need to achieve the 'Trajectory' so 11 more points should do it, taking us to the majic 70 point mark. To be absolutely certain though - in case Liverpool win all their easy games plus Chelsea - we might need that extra point. So in answer to the question 12 points.

Some interesting points but i think the pressures getting to Liverpool,Gerrards reaction to the substitution said it all i thought

I honestly think they need to be looking over their shoulders at Everton rather than worrying about 4th,real danger they may end up 6th/7th and depending on how the semi's work out next weekend out of europe altogether.

Also, i think people talking about Spurs run of fixtures are underestimating them, yeah they had a bad game against Sunderland but so did we against Everton. Before that they won five on the bounce.

After seeing arsenal and the rags this week i wouldn't bet against spurs getting something out of both games and they beat Cheslea last year!

We really need to make every home game a cup final atmosphere, amazing to think 11/12 years ago we were in the 2nd division play offs.

THIS MADE ME FEEL WARM INSIDE

Although it is inevitable that Manchester City will force their way into the Champions League sooner rather than later, qualification this season could be the catalyst to a seismic power shift in English football.

Even though speculation continues to dog Roberto Mancini - he does not seem particularly bothered - City are getting it done on the pitch.

They have suffered one defeat in six games and, with Liverpool now way off the pace and despite the setback of the 2-0 loss to Everton a fortnight ago, City are hitting form at exactly the right time.

At times they have not looked cohesive, but in the 6-1 hammering of Burnley there was a real flow and relentlessness to their play and the front four of Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor, Adam Johnson and Craig Bellamy will take some stopping.

A point clear of Tottenham, they face matches against Birmingham, Manchester United, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Spurs and West Ham as they look to close the deal.

It is an intimidating proposition but they have only lost twice in eight matches against top-seven opposition so far this season and have also beaten Arsenal and Chelsea at Eastlands, where they play four of their final matches.

"We are all fighting to finish in the top four, and we have the spirit to achieve that," Adebayor told the club's official website. "We have to keep fighting now.

"We have got Birmingham next week, we still have to go to Arsenal, and Tottenham have to come to us - we needed these three points, and we have got to try and win all our games."

The effect of Sheikh Mansour's takeover certainly put a different slant on the transfer market with the Eastlands club paying over the odds to take players to City.

But, other than the £34m signing of Robinho, they have not been competing with Manchester United or Chelsea for players.

The next six games could change all that. Where they have been rejected in their pursuit of the likes of Kaka, John Terry, Samuel Eto'o and Ronaldinho in the past, they will now be able to offer the world's stars Europe's top competition as well as unlimited cash.

Even the likes of Real Madrid will be praying they slip up in the next few weeks as the effects of City pulling through would be felt throughout Europe.

Before it would have taken quite a leap for someone like Franck Ribery or Fernando Torres to move to City but if they close out Champions League qualification, whoever is the manager will supervise what could be the most pivotal transfer window since Roman Abramovich took over at Chelsea in 2003.

If Liverpool ca not live with them now, they will have no chance of challenging them next season and Chelsea, United and Arsenal will also be pushed hard for the title.

They will be able to offer anyone in Europe what any other club can, plus a load more money and will be able to take on all comers in the transfer market.

All of that is potentially just 540 minutes of football away.

Re: how many points do you think we'll need from these 6 games?

We have the players and they have the belief. We have 4 home games to play, it's the home support that have to show them that they believe and show the love to them. We have won 3 and drawn 1 of our last 4 away games we banged 6 at Burnley and 4 at Chelsea, at home the support has been way off beam abuse directed at certain players has been not called for. We would have beaten Everton for example if we had all been pissin in the same pot. I am not calling for 45,000 to be all stood singing together, that will never happen, but if you cannot bring yourselves to clap and support all our players when they do something positive then just say fook all and keep quiet, we will get the required results if we support them all the time.
I reckon we will get another 10 points from the last 6 fixtures the next one against Birmingham is huge and will not be easy and the lads deserve a positive crowd cheering the good and not moaning like fook at the bad, come on city!!!!
