How many points to win the league?

Amazingly, because we have 6 home games remaining and one of them is the derby, it means that if we can win all 6 of them, we'll only need to win 1(!!!) away game for the remainder of the season to be champions!

i wont tell a lie lads, im beginning to think that it may just be our year this year after last nights results. Im starting to believe :-)

Manure are going to go through a sticky patch.

Chelsea look like they can't wait for the season to finish and their manager depart.

Spurs and Liverpool blow hot and cold.

Its fairly clear now if it wasn't to all before that 85 points will be enough to win the title this season.

The trend is to revise downwards with each passing week.

This means we require 17 points from our remaining 13 games to secure the title this year

5-2-6 or 4-5-4 for example.

Chelsea have to win all their remaining games to finish on 89 points ( not going to happen ) need to go 11-2-0 to finish on 85 points ( not going to happen )

Liverpool have to win all their remaining games to finish on 89 points ( not going to happen ) need to go 11-2-0 to finish on 85 points ( not going to happen )

Spurs need to win all their remaining games to finish on 87 points ( not going to happen ) need to go 12-1-0 to finish on 85 points ( not going to happen )

Manure need to win all their remaining games to finish on 92 points ( not going to happen ) need to go 10 -2 -1 to finish on 85 points ( highly unlikely )

In all probability we need 5 wins maximum from our remaining 13 games to secure the title.

I think 4 wins will most likely be enough as it will turn out if we don't lose to Manure at home but 5 wins for sure.

When can it be the earliest possible outcome? I presume around March? Maybe Brighton? Don’t know if anyone can work it out if you can? Say if we win our next 6 games and so do united etc (unlikely!) how does it look ?

If both teams continue to win eight games will do it due to our superior goal difference. Of course we wouldn't call officially be declared as champions until we gained one more point which would mean the rags can't catch us.

The way I've been looking at it since well before Christmas is that the aim should be 90 points - a figure which has never failed to land the title before (someone did once fail with 89, and it was brilliant!). That gives us quite a lot of leeway for poor results caused by rotation, fatigue and injuries.

As it stands after the WBA game, to reach the 90 mark, we need another 22 points, so 6 wins, four draws and three defeats from the last 13 matches. In other words, we don't even have to win half our games.

Of the other teams, only United can now reach 90. They'd need to win 12 and draw the other of their remaining games, but would need to overhaul a goal difference disadvantage of 24 as well.

Someone posted on Twitter that, to reach 96 points (which would set a new PL record), we can afford to draw one and lose three of our remaining games.

10 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss would give us 100. That's what we're aiming for.

Once the title is confirmed we will start dropping points as players are rested for the CL knockout stages and hopefully the FA Cup Semis and final.
