Here is the historic points of the premier league winners starting in 92/93: 84, 92, 89, 82, 75, 78, 79, 91, 80, 90, 83, 90, 95, 91, 89, 87, 90, 86, 80, 89, 89, 86, 87, 81, 87.
Taking the most pessimistic view of 95 points, that means 40 points required from 19 games, which equates to 13 wins and 1 draw. Do-able.
I think the historic points of the teams to finish 2nd is more relevant. The highest is the rags when we pipped them. No team has ever got 90 points and finished 2nd so that's the target for me. No one will get more than that from where they are. United 49/57 to get 91. Not going to happen.
