How many points to win the league?

Are we completely writing Anfield off as a loss?

Wouldn't say writing it off as a loss, but them beating us a week Sunday will not change anything from our point of view, but a trip to Arsenal and Wembley to play Spurs might also be difficult to get max points, but I do see us doing Chelsea and rags at home

They seem to be copping a few injuries and we need to break that damn awful record sooner or later.

Get the points lead extended and rest players for the 3 cups we still have to play for, what a load of bollocks.
Do people not want to win as many trophies as possible, this is what we will be judged on historically.
The league is as good as won barring a catastrophe so we have a bit of leeway there and if anything should be concentrating on the cups with a careful eye on our lead in the league.
Having won zip last year, the league and CL are priority. Im afraid rotating against Bristol and Burnley is required whilst we operate on 1 of Silva or De Bruyne and 1 of Aguero or Jesus (basically Sergio atm). Should have enough quality to win still. Walker and Fernandinho need looking after as neither have great back up

So don't try as hard at it? Fuck that, it's all opinion but I don't think it is "all but won", and taking an eye off that risks the most catastrophic collapse of any Premier lead ever. Leave that record to utd or Newcastle.

Not so much a case of not trying as hard or anything close. More of a case of re-prioritising certain fixtures.

Imagine for example we draw the first leg of the League Cup semi Final. Would it then be wrong to rest a few players for the Newcastle League game to enable a full strength team to go and try to win the 2nd leg? More so if by that time we have beaten or drawn at Liverpool?

Totally get what you are saying about the Utd and Newcastle blow ups.....its a different league now, it would be difficult for any one of the chasing pack to put the kind of run together required to get anywhere near us. Dont forget they are involved in Europe and are all fighting for three Champions league places. 15 points at this stage of a season is near impossible to pull back. We have Chelsea and United to play at home where if either were closing the gap a draw would be suffice for us.

I am not suggesting we suddenly play a "league Cup" team against Spurs away in the League, but prioritising cup games where appropriate might be an idea.

We are a bunch of worriers aren't we. I think its inbuilt into us.

We have showed no sign of losing to anyone regardless of the side we have put out, bar one complete dead rubber of a game. 15 points is mammoth at this time of year.

We still have these teams to play at home.

Brighton
Huddersfield
West Brom
Newcastle
Swansea
Leicester

Just win those alone and we are on 80 points.

That's how much we have in the bank.

Find these type of threads interesting and worrying at the same time. The predictions are great but I always feel apprehensive talking about success before it's guaranteed. The truth is none of us knows what points total will be needed, but the lead is superb. It's going to be really interesting when the other top teams play each other as well. There can be no let up from us though and the whole squad will be needed with total effort.
