Depends what posters have voted on. If you have voted on how many will the winning team get then I can see 86- 90 is possible, for us anyway. I voted on what will the second place team get, can’t see that being over 82 so that would enough to win it I’d expect even if only on gd. Meaning we would need about 12/13 wins and maybe a draw or 2 from 18.

Were there 42 games that season or had it been reduced by then ?
Yep, so probably 6ish defeats in new money. It was useful, for me at least, to cut out some of the points noise and actually say that City and Liverpool and possibly United are the only team on track in terms of the L column. Clearly that isn't everything, but if Leicester, Spurs, Chelsea, Everton did win it they'd probably equal or beat the most losses for a winning team.

I thought this had some interesting stats to compare and contrast where we are currently at with earlier PL seasons as well. https://www.insure4sport.co.uk/blog/the-best-and-worst-premier-league-winning-teams-of-all-time/

Every game's worth 3 points but there are wins and there there are 6 pointers.

Clearly the pool game is one such; if we avoid defeat we'll be comfortably placed. However if we assume the points are in the bag against Burnley then we're in danger of becoming as giddy as nited.

The scousers are the real danger as they've been for the last 3 years. We need to take each game and each opposition on its own merits. Don't be arrogant like either of the red clad fools.

Although the CBs that pool are signing seem very underwhelming they're still a cut above the rest of the league.

Titles are not won in early February and there's many points to play for. I think we're in the box seat but both reds and Leicester are capable.

I did feel it would be mid 80s that would take it and that's still the case.

The defence and midfield look full of options and once Raz and Gaby are back scoring we'll be stronger . To say nothing of the greatest striker this league's ever seen on his way back. And mr king of assists soon! Don't be sloppy grind out wins and ignore the flatulence of the media.

This will be the defining week when it comes to how many points will be required to win the title.

Depending on how results go over the next seven days, it could be low 80s that’s needed to win the league, or it could spark another huge winning streak from both us and Liverpool who take each other to the wire and it be the high 80s that’s needed.

1 more point or 1 more goal than any of the red shite will do me. Big week ahead. Draw at klanfield will do as-long as we best the racist Inbreds.

90 points , we can afford a few draws but we need to remain unbeaten for the rest of the season , if we can extend this winning run to 15 games i dont think any other team can live with us , we still are not free scoring but with Aguero on the way back that has got be a positive.

I thought 86 for the last 3 months.
Look at the table it would mean Liverpool and the rags would have to win 16 games out of 17 plus a draw! They ain’t doing that are they capable of winning 15 out of 17? Maybe doubt it so it 86 from me but lower will probably win the league.

Good point , because the latest Dipper revival will be ending on Sunday

liverpool will go head to head with city from here on in. we all should think maximum points totals and not early season form from here. liverpool can win all their games from here ? so can city and i bet they will be thinking city will not lose many

am still in the camp of 92 points and liverpool can not reach that. maximum points liverpool get is 91
so lets say city lose to liverpool and united we still win the league by 1 point

Both ourselves and Liverpool have very tough games this midweek.

The table could look great or worse come Sunday, no doubt.

City need the gap to grow this week, just to take some pressure away and deal a blow to our main challengers.

A draw would be fine for us. For them its must-win.
But I’d hope we finally shake off our complex about playing there and put on a true display. As has been said on here before, sometimes champions need to play like champions
Totally agree, thought we would spank them at home but sometimes I feel they are in our heads and a draw is ok, love to break the drought... playing like we are at the moment , surely we have to be more confident, let them worry about us

Sadly Brighton have some injury worries tomorrow night, Mac Allister and Trossard were both brilliant v Spurs but both facing fitness tests. We need to do our own job v Burnley, can’t really expect any favours feom the Seagulls

We will never have a better opportunity of laying the Klanfield curse , makeshift defence , no crowd influencing decisions , and we have our strongest defence since Mancini and our midfield completely control games , very optimistic for Sunday , beating the current champions in their own back yard will deflate Klippety and his merrymen , we did it to Chelsea a couple of years ago when KDB scored the winner and took the title off them.
Will be satisfying to see all the Dippers scuttling back undeer their rocks.

yep looking forward to the game and nothing to fear ? like i said earlier in this thread the past couple of games there we should have won and got robbed in the other. we go and respect them and then show fight and face them up and give them something to fear

lets hope the city squad on the coach drive into anfield is not a planned riot and the police are not leading the blind
you can bet them scum fans will have something planned and the mini coach welcome at maine vs spurs was not a dress rehearsal

yep burnley will be a hard game that will need a full focus and city best 11 out there
we will be treated the burnley way and they will be flying in and in our faces and a dodgy pitch
