How many points will be needed to win the league?

I presume the question isn't how many points we will get but how many second spot will get plus one. After tonights result I'm thinking no-one else will get to 80 points.

Utd need 35 points so 11 wins 2 draw 2 defeats to get to 80.

Liverpool from 16 games, need 40 points so 12 wins 4 draws.

I don't think either will do it. That means we need 33 points from 17 games so something like 10 wins 3 draws and 4 defeats.

We should do it comfortably.

While it’s nearly the middle of February, games-played-wise we’re actually only where we would be at the Christmas period in a normal season.

Injuries, suspensions, Covid isolation, this great run of form coming to an end, a great run from someone else, more shithousery from officials, United penalties... anything could happen yet.

Today was only our second win against a team in the top 8 all season (after us finishing bottom of the Top6 mini-league last season), and we’ve got 5 top 8 teams in our next 8 games.

If we carry on with our top 8 form so far, it throws the title race wide open:
P7 W2 D3 L2 F11 A11 GD0 Pts9/21

Far from over yet.

But it will be if we improve on that top8 form over the coming games.

Where are you getting L3 from? We haven't lost 3 all season.
 
Remember that weird results happen towards the end of the season when the bottom clubs suddenly start playing for their survival. Also, with injuries, COVID and other competitions to consider, this league is far from won.

In a normal season I would agree but this season I don't think thats true.

Sheff Utd are 12, West Brom 11 and Fulham 8 points from 17th spot. Relagation is pretty confirmed for those three. Once relegation is confirmed these teams sometimes have a few surprise results as the players relax and accept their fate.
 
That win yesterday was huge! I don't think the league is over just yet, but it's not far off. It's going to be interesting to see how we cope over the next few games, but with Pep in charge I can't see us becoming complacent, it's just not in his DNA.


If we manage to win all our league games until 06/03/2021 then the league is done and dusted. Hopefully, we beat Swansea and Gladbach before then and then I'll be getting excited about the prospects of winning the quad....
