As things stand, the probablility that we win the title is very high, say 0,8, but it's not 1.

The probability for our title win back in 2012 with 6 games to go was extremely low but we won it. So, the calculations in this thread may make you feel less anxious but they do not guarantee the title. Remember that the probability of Liverpool failing to win 5 consecutive games at Anfield with scoring just 2 goals in those 5 games was incredibly low back in December.

That said, I think that even 78 pts will be enough for the title, especially IF United drop 5 pts over the next 4 games. Think also that we are likely to go to 88+ pts. But it's all about probabilities which can widely fluctuate after two poor results in a row.

Still, if we win the next 5 games, we are champions 99 %.
I’ll go out on a limb and say if we win the next two games (both tough games but winnable imo) we will win the league. If we are ten or so points clear with a game in hand after this weekend nobody is catching us.

We won't have a game in hand after this weekend we play it tomorrow.

I think you should google it. Just to be on the safe side make sure you are at work or in a public place.

Was trying to avoid having to add to my Google history (at work or the public library) ... but at least I’m now slightly more educated. Will start a list of locations I’ve been able to Spaff :

I must be getting old and have missed some of the new words the youth use today. Could you describe what ‘spaffed’ means (purely for educational purposes) ?
Can you not work it out from the Jizz reference?

He 'come'

Edit never mind I just seen the bigger version you posted above lol

These mathematical probability nerds seem to rate our chances...

They have had us as most likely to win the league all season, even when we were 11th in the table, they had us at 57% chance of winning it.

I do enjoy that website. I fully know numbers dont trabslate to real life football and the unpredictablility tou can't put a mateix on, but i still find it fascinating.

At least there is some solid and transparent methodology behind it. Unlike the Sun/Star ‘supercomputers’ which are nothing more than a work experience kid with a calculator working out average points per game

I was just interested in the nuance between spaffed and other more familiar terms; blasted, blew, splattered, sprayed, etc.
It has always been spaffed for as long as I remember, wonder if it is a northern thing?
Probably a play on sprayed maybe?

Its amazing how quickly we went from not being in the top 6, to being written off by everyone, to having the title all but wrapped up.

I suppose a record breaking winning run coupled with all the other clubs being inconsistent would do that.

I was thinking earlier that i actually don't think we were overly impressive in any game this season up until Chelsea away on January 3rd. We seemed to go through the motions in a lot of other games and just get the jobs done in the games that we won. I may have forgotten one or two games here
Chelsea seemed to be the catalyst, then United away in the Carabao and it just accelerated from there

It was Southampton away for me but I know what you mean. Start of December no one saw this coming. Fair play to Pep and the players.

I agree the Chelsea game seemed to be the turning point.

76 points will do it, so 20 points from 14 games.
