How many trophies will we win?

Well, at least 2.

I'm the most confident I've ever been about the CL, but such is the quality of PSG, Chelsea, and Real Madrid, we could play our strongest team and play the best we can and still manage to lose. PSG have great attacking individuals, Chelsea are extremely solid, and Real Madrid are the veterans at this. I'd consider us favourites but at this level anything could happen.
We play the best we can we win, end of story!

I think some might want to alter their choice on the CL now we are in the final?

Right now it looks like only 27% of City fans believe we will beat Chelsea.

The odds are about 64% in our favour now so 27% is pessimistic even for us!

It is disappointing, but we had to keep faith in the squad and rotation. It served us well this season and we might have suffered somewhere else if we hadn't done it. Unfortunately, the changes Pep made were not quite right. We looked to match them with the two deeper lying players but too many had off days and De Bruyne's injury was a key factor. We sent Foden on but if we had have kept De Bruyne on with him I think we'd have found a goal.

Considering how intense this season has been, three trophies is still impressive.

Also, think of it this way - someone has already won the league, FA Cup and CL in the same season. No one has won the league, league cup and CL in the same season. So technically it's a harder treble to win! The same as the domestic treble!

This City side could have won the treble but, in going for the league cup too, I think something was always going to give. Let's just hope that the FA Cup semi final disappointment is a reminder of how one bad game at this level can crush dreams. The fact it was against Chelsea can spur us on for revenge in the CL final. We'd rather win the CL than the FA Cup in my opinion, and the same is true for Chelsea.
Good post. I agree with most of it.

Someone posted below but Liverpool did that treble in 1984.

Suppose my point is the Leeds defeat had bigger consequences Than we might have thought at the time.

Also it's rare to have the chance we did. League pretty much won with 5 6 games to go. (In truth probably even 10 games to go). This meant we could rotate for the league and concentrate on the cups. Pep and players have been amazing. Not a moan just.. disappointed tut.. at what might have been.

Just to cheer everyone up if we do lose we match Utd results from season 08/09 exactely. Nobody talks about that team being great so we really need to win the CL to elevate ourselves to be seen as of the best teams in history.

I'll change it to no team has ever won the domestic trouble AND the three we could win this season in their history!

The CL definitely elevates the status of a side. I don't know if you've seen the MNF where they ranked the best sides in English history based on a points system for each competition. Some of the scoring could have been improved I think. They gave 5pts for the CL, 4pts for the league, 3pts for another European trophy, 2pts for FA Cup, 1pt for league cup and then 2pts for losing a CL final and 1pt for being 2nd in the league.

I think they should have added bonus points for winning more than one trophy a season too if I'm honest. So if you win two trophies you get an extra 2pts and so on. Our great side of the 60s was overlooked despite it scoring higher than a couple on the list. It was based on a three year period.

Last season we would only have scored 2pts, but if you look at the last four seasons including this one, it's remarkable but that CL needs to be delivered to cement this side in the conversation amongst the Forest, Liverpool, United sides of the past.

3 x League titles
1 x FA Cup
4 x League Cup
1 x league runner up
1 x CL winner*

We're already a great side of course, but it really is the pinnacle. It's the one the players want and the one the board and Pep wants. It's the one I want too. We've conquered England. Our domestic quality cannot be questioned. The records are there.

We've now set an English club record in Europe but need that trophy to really confirm our status.
