How many trophies will we win?

Wisdom of the crowd isn’t far off the maths considering we are biased.

Rounded to nearest %age:

100% vs 99% city fans very slightly pessimistic
75% vs 87% city fans quite a bit overconfident
55% vs 57% city fans very slightly overconfident
30% vs 29% city fans very slightly pessimistic

Only Spurs significantly different which, given our perceived bad luck when playing them, is surprising.

When I was a lad, doing the double was considered an unbelievable feat and not many clubs have done it, we are the only club in history to win the domestic treble and it’s been virtually airbrushed from history ... No agenda??
My Fuckin Arse .....!!!!
Imagine doing it again! If we did all 4 it will have never happened as it’s a Covid season.

You are spot on. Doing the double was absolutely huge. I don’t think the treble was really ever mentioned as doable which shows just how good it was.

Media are building us up for a fall , actually think we will end up with another dometic treble which will now be considered a failure by pundits , what they dont realise the best teams do not always win the Champs league , luck and officials need to be on your side for the Champs league. Different story with the FA Cup & Carabao Cup we have taken both seriously and played strong teams from day one , we have earned the right to be in the final and semi-finals.

There have been teams in the past who have been in the latter stages of cup competitions whilst doing well in the league. Without fail they been backed enthusiastically and positively by the media, not surpringly because it is usually media darlings who end up in this situation. There is genuine disappointment when they fall between the various stools and the media quite rightly point out how difficult it is.
BUT this has rarely been the case when City have gone for and got more than one trophy. The media were not enthusiastic at all. It is perhaps because we have often got the League Cup out of the way so early. This year it is different as as they are actually building us up but in the hope we fall at at least one hurdle so they can come out with their headlines for stories already written and stored in their computers and we still get claims that there is no agenda or bias against City.
What a barmy world we live in where after a gloomy last 13 months or so that a significant chunk of our media actively do not want an achievement to be celebrated.
PS If we win anything this year can our players be safe celebrating without Curtis Jones running on to the pitch in anger looking for a fight with the tacit support of our shithouse media?

Makes me laugh how the media paint the CL as the holy grail when it comes to measuring achiements..

The pisscan managed the rags from '86, was dispised by their supporters and was a goal away from being sacked in 1990..

The formation of the PL in '92 gave the rags an untold advantage over all the other English teams when it came to generating money which pretty much guaranteed them year on year CL qualification, especially when qualification was opened up to teams finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the league..

Makes a mockery of calling the competition 'The Champions League' when you don't have to be champions of your domestic league to enter it..

Their group draws during this time were nothing short of embarrassing, Albanian goat herders, Greek window cleaners and Icelandic solicitors were regularly pulled out of the glass bowls to be paired with them..

Taking this into account, the pisscan had 19 seasons in the CL, he won it twice in all that time and with all those leg ups courtesy of the soft draws they copped for..

In '99 they were absolutely played off the park by the German rags, one of the most one sided CL finals on record..

2 goals in the dying minutes, which nobody saw coming was basically daylight robbery..

One good thing coming out of that game though was the rags making the paperboy a hero which in turn got him the manager's job at the swamp..

The pisscan's only other win was via the lottery of a penalty shootout when, let's not forget, Terry had the chance to win it for Chelsea but fucked it up..

Best manager in English football history winning 2 CL's in 19 attempts..

Bit shit that, funny I don't recall the media ever saying as much though..

The dippers won 4 of their 6 trophies back in the late 70's and early 80's when they again were paired with utter dross in the early rounds.

The format was different back then, win a couple of games against Bohemians and the Maltese champions and you were in the quarter finals

In fact, they were even given a bye in one of the rounds..

In 2005 they won it on penalties, (lottery) and in 2019 they beat a 'rabbit in the headlights' spuds with the help of yet another dodgy penalty after less than a minute of play..

Don't forget, the dippers lost 4 and drew 1 out of 13 games on the way to winning it that season too,

We ply our trade in the hardest league in world football..

A league in which we have been the standout team for the last decade..

A league in which we have achieved 100 points, won the domestic treble and raised the bar to a level never thought possible, all whilst playing arguably the best football ever seen on these shores..

We are a truly 'Champion Team' in all sense of the word..

CL, the pinnacle of achievement for European clubs ?

Don't make me laugh..!

Of course they realise it, they just don't care about actual facts.
