how much do we have to spend this window?

From the Club Statement in May said

- The Club’s expenditure on new players for the upcoming summer transfer window, on top of income from players it might sell, will be limited to
60m euros. This will have no material impact on the Club’s planned transfer activity.

But from the UEFA Press Release

Manchester City agrees to significantly limit spending in the transfer market for seasons 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. Manchester City further accepts a calculated limitation on the number of new registrations it may include within their “A” List for the purposes of participation in UEFA competitions. This calculation is based on the clubs net transfer position in each respective registration period covered by this agreement.

But wasn't that restriction period potentially to drop back to Summer '14 provided we met some sort of benchmark? Which I think we did.

I never got a good handle on exactly how this was set up. Still is confusing. I think we're certainly clear for next summer. January still seems a bit unclear. Probably won't matter though unless there really is a Bony deal to be made.

Duplicity when applied to the English language, especially when it being offered by those who do not speak the language as their mother tongue, creates all kinds of ambiguities. It is difficult enough to understand what the words "yes", " no", "must" or "will", for example, really mean when spoken by the likes of Platini, let alone adding words like " can" or "may" to the mix. From my ramblings, here I am thinking of our transfer spending limit as it "may" apply to the summer of 2015, because this seems to be overlooked or misunderstood by many on this forum, myself certainly included. Some seem to think that if we achieve what we believe to be the intended sentence that has held us back this season, then we are in the clear, but from the statement above, I can't figure out if we face another 12 months of operating with our hands tied, or if the new sanctions mean a further limitation in transfer activity, deductible from any excesses of the current season, or if it will instead mean an even heavier punishment of which a fresh transfer limitation is just one element. I'm totally confused and I'm not alone either.

Since we "failed" FFP UEFA have been monitoring our books on a 3 monthly basis.

Via City Watch on twitter "@City_Watch: Groningen will pay City a fee of €550,000 (£430,000) for Rusnak, who would have been out of contract in the summer. (via @HenkAlbers1970)"

So thats some more to spend
