How much do we owe to Yaya?

Love him, legend of a man and a player

However, he isn’t getting a statue because of the personal issues he seems to have with Pep. Pep was big enough to accept his apology and let him back in the team and he piped up again as soon as he left, the ‘agent said it’ excuse is nonsense. He pays his agent and his agent doesn’t say anything without his say so

And we don’t owe him anything, he was paid well enough while he was here

Yaya scored BIG goals, simple as that. The goal in the semi and the one in the final of the FA Cup. Not to mention the 2 he got away at Newcastle when we won the league. And the one he got against Sunderland in the League Cup final, plus all the others.

The guy was the best player on the planet for a year or so - fast, strong, genuinely 2 footed. He scored penalties, free kicks from 30 yards out with both feet, he tackled like De Jong, passed as well as Silva, dribbled like Foden and could finish like Aguero when he was at his peak. He would walk into this team now at his peak.

However, all that said, I really don't understand why ANYONE wants to denigrate an absolute LEGEND. No Yaya, no trophies in the early years. He was an absolute beast of a player and one of the best I've ever seen. I never hear United fans questioning whether Cantona or Robson was 'all that', whether Ferdinand was really a drugs cheat etc and the same with Liverpool and the likes of Dalglish and Rush.

Honestly, some people don't appreciate what they've seen, I'm sure of that. If you are a football fan or a fan of Manchester City then Yaya Toure was one of the best players we've ever enjoyed at the club and a LEGEND. He scored the goals which kick started what we have now, so get behind him and if anyone asks you how good he was, it's simple - one of the best you've ever seen, regardless of club.

YAYA = CITY LEGEND. END OF.
Cantona did far worse things than Yaya yet the Rags defend him to the hilt.

Not only the king fu kick a Palace fan (that lead down a path that ended up with a Palace fan, Paul Nixon, being killed by United fans at the FA Cup semifinal) but his demands for payments for the Munich Memorial game that ended up coming out of the proceeds for the survivors/players’ families.

Yet he’s their hero.

Yaya said a couple of silly things and we have people in our fanbase who call the guy a **** and downplay his quality as a player.

As you say, he’s a proper City legend. What he did for our club from 2010-2014 (with the odd great games after that after his legs had gone) is up there with the best of what anyone has done for this club.

One of the best players we've ever had. It's a shame it ended so poorly because it does change perceptions and taint everything he did in a blue shirt. He was a fantastic footballer.

Cantona a strange one, the main reson United didnt win the league, the last football league season. If he'd tried his Bruce Lee impersonation at Anfield, Elland Rd or Ibrox doubt he'd have got out alive. Great footballer horrible human being

Selhurst Park is a rough part of South East London. I went to Palace in the league cup years ago and their fans told us how much they hated the rags.
