At his peak he was one of our best ever players.
I remember him slotting in the winning penalty against Liverpool to win the League Cup. As cool as a cucumber.Yaya was without doubt the best midfielder in Europe from 2011 to 2014.
At times he was just unplayable..
Alongside Dave, Vinny, Kun and Zab, with special mentions to Gaz Baz, Nige, Joe, Edin and Samir, what a team by the way, these players cemented the foundations for us to push on and reach the heights we have..
It's such a shame the players above couldn't get their hands on a CL winners medal..
Yaya went a bit strange towards the end of his time with us but, me personally, I'll cut him some slack and remember him as the rock of the team, his lung busting, marauding runs, goals and penalties, I don't think he missed one did he ?
If he was named on the team sheet there was every chance we'd win..
He was that good..
Steady on, a slice of last weeks carrot cake would be more than enough. Especially with his waistline issues.A blackforest Gateux
This. That Villa goal was astonishing! You can also add the Palace goal to your typical Yaya goal. Just fantastic! And how ridiculous was his starting angle to his free kicks, almost parallel with the goal.A genuine City legend on the pitch.
A total arsehole off it.
The goal against Villa at the Etihad encapsulates him as a City player for me.
Like this one?Yaya was the go to man when we needed an important goal, time and time again
