How much will J.Navas improve the team over J.Milner?

If Navas is fit, Navas plays for me.

The reason I say that is because teams simply can't press us in the same way if Navas is in the team because it only takes that one ball over the top and nobody is catching him. He's technically better than Milner in a wide role because he can commit defenders by dribbling at them, his movement is stunning in terms of how he catches defenders flat footed by making them think he's coming for a short pass and then spinning to run in behind and at the end of it all there's an end product because he generally tries picking out a man with the cross instead of just putting it into a dangerous area and hoping for the best like Milner.

I also think people will be surprised by his stamina and ability defensively, by that I mean closing people down and cutting off passing options which is absolutely paramount to Pellegrini's tactics and the teams use of a high defensive line. To be fair though Milner is the master at this but I don't think Navas is by any means less capable. The way I see it is if you're 2-1 up with 5 minutes to go defending for your lives at the Bernabeu like last season who would you want on the pitch and for me it would be Navas all day long because Marcelo can't push forward like he did that night if Navas is there.

Attack is the best form of defensive.

Couldn't have been said any better.

Navas is light years ahead of Milner I admire milners will and contributions but what's true is true Navas is a champion he is the kind of player built to be a champion in a championship team there is no ceiling with him..that's like comparing the really good players of the premier league to the international stars that would be Ina champions league team or a World Cup team...

Milner, very, very poor value for 26 million quid. At utmost best capable, at normal a trundler with little imagination or genuine flair. He will merely give us what we got last year or worse.
Navas, who cost much less is a really exciting player who has the capability to be magic & open up the tightest defences, the type who used properly will take us to PL & maybe CL success.
So for mine no comparison & thanks once again for the video.

Milner has had MOTM performances away to United, home to Spurs and home to Chelsea in the last few seasons. That tells you the lad is not just a run of the mill player. Milner is my second favourite player behind Agüero, the lad is class.

He isn't particularly fast or skilful but when he plays we are a better all round team.

What Navas will bring is pace ofthe bench away at other top sides (because I feel Milner's qualities are essential in games like this) and in his starts he will add much needed pace and a change from defence to attack that we've not seen for a good while.

Navas starts for me.

Everyone is going on about Milners tracking back, but did nobody see Navas tracking back trying to get the ball back in the games he was playing for us?? I thought he was as good.

Why could there not be a place in the first team for both, why either or? If Navas is tracking back and helping the defence out on the right why at some stage and in certain games can't Milner play on the left and do the same, give protection to the left back?

It's a bit of a numbers game. It's safe to assume that Silva will be one of the first on the team sheet. He'll probably play on the left, maybe #10. I don't think they bought Jovetic to sit on the bench either. Have to believe he'll play a lot as the #10 behind Dzeko/Aguero/Negredo, some on the left if we play with Dzeko and Aguero below. So really there is only 1 "free" spot and that's on the right, where Navas, Milner and Nasri will be compeeting.
