He wasn't. What he said is true. Milner is unskilful and very limited and low quality. He is hard working and professional and if he was as skilful as his effort levels he'd be as good as messi, but that doesn't make him good enough in terms of providing quality needed to succeed in Champions League. (other than as a workhorse defensively)
