I should add there were occasions where the conversation brought the age gap into serious relief. Films, music, other cultural references. But we never ran out of things to talk about and had a lot of very deep conversations.

She was much smarter than she realised, which I found very, very attractive.

Funny you should mention films mate, watched ‘The Lives of Others’ (great film btw) with my ex wife (the one you met), she actually thought it was some kind of fictional, dystopian take on the world, couldn’t believe that’s what life was like in Eastern Europe back then.

Anyway, 57, and wouldn’t have dated anyone younger than my eldest child, so say 36, happily (and hopefully) I wont need to enter the dating scene ever again (shallow as fuck) having been with a fantastic girl the past 2 years.
