How old are you and what’s the youngest person you would feel comfortable dating?

But eventually you get to the age when you’re ready to get out the pipe and slippers and they’re still in their prime. And they’re wanting to do stuff all the time you just can’t be arsed with anymore.
Was listening to a radio programme a couple of years ago discussing age gaps in relationships (think they classed 10 years as being a rough starting point) with a couple of relationship counsellors.

They stated that the vast majority of age gap relationships that did break up were pretty much because of the reasons you state, when one’s just entering their 50s, the other is (at least) in their 60s, and their desire and capabilities are on the wane.

I’ve always dated/ married much younger women. Not as some predetermined plan, just the way it’s worked out.
I’ve had four proper relationships and all four have been younger. The biggest age gap was 6 years.

With age, they tend to pick up baggage like ex-husbands and kids. My last one had a grown up son but he lived away and I never met him.

49 :-( and all previous relationships have been with older men. The last one was 7 years older, the one before that was 5 years older, the one before that 12 years older.
Older men is a gradually shrinking demographic but as I'm never dating again, it's not really my problem any more.
I've never really seen the attraction in having a much younger partner, which is ironic I guess seeing as how I've often been the younger one in a couple.

Biggest gap I ever had was 22 years (her younger than me). It was too much, for all the reasons obvious and less obvious. It didn't last more than a couple of months.
Funnily enough, nearly twenty years later, she still stays in touch with me. I think she's genuinely fond of me. I'm one of her old flames!
