Brown as we all know is and always has been capable of mixing it and has a nasty streak in him like Barton. In the one on Brown, Gerrard was the typically cowardly bastard he and Souness before him was, but watch this space, wouldn't be the least bit surprised if at some point Brown gets his revenge, hope so anyway.

Didn't Thatcher only get a yellow originally though? Then it was reviewed and 'upgraded' even though the ref had seen it and dealt with it at the time.

the fa mantra is that they never ever re-referee games as it's not allowed by fifa apparently. if a ref says he saw an incident & dealt with it at the time they can't take any further action. but they made an exception in thatcher's case despite not being allowed to ever re-referee games. lucky then for the likes of vidic (4 elbows or punches last season) or tranny (3 retaliatory kicks on opponents the season before) that they never ever re-referee games when in each case the refs said they saw the incidents & dealt with them at the time (by not issuing a card of any colour for mandatory red card offences).
