Where's the barm muffin thread?

In your hotel, room 237.

Evo, I have no doubt the more learned posters of this forum with tackle your question articulately and provide a solid basis for their beliefs. I can't bloody answer it. But I do like what foetus said. But what does he know? He's still a baby.

I doubt it. Anyway, we are all entitled to an opinion and I think we are all extremely lucky to be around at a time when we may just get some answers!

Lucky to be alive full stop. But others will come along. They may deride you a bit, mock you, ridicule you, but there will be better posts :)

In the end it doesn't bother me personally either way. If we are the most advanced or the only species in time and space. There is a long time to go yet before entropy renders everything useless that another lifeform may spring up when we are loooong gone.

Earth lands on a comet? Or do you mean a comet hits us? Either way a step in what direction?

I have probably missed the intention of your post :/

Then " Where is everybody?" !!!!
The universe is big...like really, really big. The chances of picking up any kind of signal in our galaxy, let alone the entire Universe, is pretty slim to say the least. It takes a long time for light to get from star to star..a lot longer for radio signals or alien spaceships etc. The chances that these intelligent life forms are alive long enough to find another is also pretty slim. Any 'intelligent' civilisation is only around for a very small amount of time on the cosmic timeline.

Yep really big. In fact our galaxy is so big I struggle to comprehend it. Your statement should read "The chances of NOT picking up any kind of signal....." is pretty slim... Do you agree?
No.

Ah! It's like Armageddon, the movie. A bit. Yes, a step as you say! Forward.

No.

Why, considering age of the galaxy and likely preponderance of earth like planets, do you disagree?
