How to bulk up?

Failing that maybe FI's gym still do some Olympic sessions ?

It's becoming more and more powerlifting orientated Harry, both Paul and his wife are now competing in this field and subsequently the apparatus(including the imminent arrival of a mono-lift) is reflecting such.

I honestly can't recommend a better gym as i havn't found one.

I'm adding some arm work into my routine, they've always been stubborn and the SS workout doesn't really stimulate them as much as i'd like.

Also angered the very bottom of my back squatting last week, swapped squats for legs extension on Friday to give it a bit of a rest feels fine now so i'll go back to it on Monday.

Legs have progressed the most over the last few weeks, barbell rows do nothing for me either, no idea why, so i've swapped them out for dumbell rows.

I've also pussied out of doing any power cleans so far... might give them a go this week, will have to read up on correct form.

I did my back a few weeks ago from squats too painful experience. Dirty Harry is giving great advice also your arms do not need too much work as they are one of the smallest muscles. I only work them once a week with 3/4 different exercises that I swap round depending on the mood. Add tri work to get a better result for bulky arms.

Im a vanity lifter not trying to be a power lifter so mould your routine to what goals you want. I still do 4 days a week though to cover every muscle group as well as cardio everyday.

Cheers DH, are you suggesting those alternatives are a better choice than DB rows?

I wouldn't mind joining a 'spit and sawdust' style gym (get away from the guys doing 20 sets of bench press (1 set every 15 mins) and the 'treadmil mile) but my numbers aren't up yet, i'd probably end up being more of a hindrance to the regulars.

Ah, it's all making sense now then mate, seen 'Fat Pete' doing a few master classes at your place (on video) and thought f*ck me that's Paul George, what's he doing joining in aswell ? (no Tan though, must have been practicing 'on her banjo' lol), be interesting to see how far he gets with it though, can see him doing well tbh.

GStar,as Harry as stated, don't worry about any fools in the gym, everyone at Olympic is happy to help, ego maniacs and superiority complex types soon get fooked off....

Cheers both, i'll deffinitely look into in in the next 12 months... i work with a guy who goes to one in Denton, can't remember the name of it now, keep saying i'll join him for a session. (that wording was just for you, TMQ)

As it stands i'm at one of those £15 a month ones where ILVA used to be just off Gt Ancoats St. It's on the way home so it works well, except they only have 4 squat racks - which usually means a wait to get started.

I too am back in the saddle after 10 days' layoff with a back injury. (Pulled the soas muscle).

The worst part is wanting to lift and knowing you shouldn't...really annoying.

Should have asked this earlier...

Anyone got any good recipies for meals i can cook in the evening and take to work for lunch... or even make en mass, freeze and take to work during the week?

My 'work' foods tend to be based around sweet potatoes,Wholemeal pitta,bananas,apples,brocolli/cauliflower,boiled eggs, tinned fish, chicken, cottage cheese,Quark, almonds and protein shakes.

I just snack throughtout the day.
