How to celebrate a 93rd min winner in a derby game

Nah once everything is factored in your talking more or less a grand (euro), maybe a bit less to be fair but not far off... particularly for a weekend game all the flights go through the roof and I dont live in Dublin so you generally have to stay up the night before unless you fancy hitting the road at like 3am the night before, you'd end up sleeping through the second half.

Must've been a bit depressing for you so.....

I'm Irish, it costs the guts of a grand to get over the a game. Actually delighted I didn't have tickets because there'd have been no flights.

it cost me 55 euro for a retun flight that was canceled which i'll recevive my money back

and it cost me 120 euro for the boat and drive up so will you please tell me wher this extra 880 euro is coming from

-- Mon Apr 19, 2010 12:06 pm --

I've just selected a random weekend - Sept 18-19.

Ryanair flights from Dublin-Manchester = EUR 39.98. Loads of hotels available for around £40-50 a night and probably loads more for less. That's less than EUR 100 for flights and hotel. Throw in a match ticket and taxis, and you're surely still well short of a grand??

I appreciate flight prices must shoot through the roof nearer the time, but a bit of forward planning would easily bring the price way down. Anyway, not taking the piss; just couldn't believe it would cost anywhere near a grand to get from Ireland to England when I could do the trip from thousands of miles away for half the price.

Jaysus you lot are only a bit pedantic aren't ye?

Yeah generally the way to do is book miles in advance but I didnt fancy my chances of getting a ticket to City away and besides which I'm skint....

I never said I dont get over to any games, I didnt get over to city. I've been over to 4 this season, usually try and get over to more but needs must and all that.

Maybe a grand is overshooting things but booking well in advance you're talking about 400-500 quid,

There's nothing pedantic about questioning someone when they needlessly stick way over 100% onto the actual cost of doing something. I was genuinely interested as we have a lot of City fans who head over from Ireland and I couldn't believe they'd spend a grand every fortnight, so I had a look for myself and discovered you were talking utter shit.

Fair enough, 'City Fans in 'accusing Utd supporter of being glory hunter' shock'...

-- Mon Apr 19, 2010 11:30 am --
