How to improve the atmosphere *yes this again

i seriously think its because we split the singinging sections, people say we moved the away fans and filled the away section with city and it still didnt improve last season for them few games but it was filling it with city fans who dont usually sing and they were sat down. look at when we go places like blackburn and we have a full end full of singers, its loud as fuck

Completely agree, put the singers together and there will be more noise. Isn't it as easy as swapping the South Standers and away fans in the South Stand around so that the Kippax and South Standers are all together?

Agree, dont know why they dont swap the away fans with the southstand so the singers are all together.

that's the only answer. Football atmosphere is organic and spontaneous , not bloody choreographed. One singing end will give the ground a voice that the rest of the ground will take a lead from. As it stands there are thousands of 'singers' basically wasted in the south stand because their songs aren't picked up by the rest of the ground due to their location and the stadium's acoustics.

not sure why people think the blue alliance have gone away - total opposite

the blue alliance will always be the blue alliance but they have the fundraising arm of it which is the city centre branch of the official MCFC supporters club and there are about 12/15 of the main ba lads running that

ideas get discussed as ever on facebook and the membership from the branch is used to fund flags banners etc, there's plenty going on but when you always have to shell out for coaches and tickets you don't really get a chance to spend the money until the 2nd half of the season

anyone can join, don't know why people think it's a clique. 25% of the members this season are brand new members

The club have looked at moving the away fans. Danny Wilson showed me a presentation a couple of years back. They've looked at every scenario in fine detail.

Because of the stadium design, issues with policing the away fans, the dreaded H&S laws/issues, etc, the away fans can't be moved.

Only when the stadium is expanded will the away fans be moved. Until then we've got to make the most of the current setup and improve the atmosphere some other way.

One idea which isn't often mentioned is the interaction between the Kippax and the SS.

Apart from the odd chant of......"South Stand, South Stand, give us a song", there's no interaction at all.

it's not quite the truth mate. The away fans can't really be moved anywhere except for the best place for them: the other side of the south stand. The segregation and infrastructure is there because that section is used for away fans for cup games. The club looked at moving away fans a year or so ago and even polled fans on it. But not enough wanted it when push came to shove.

It was the wrong call by the fans who can't see the impact of two singing sections and the way they clash because they are too close. The corner bit think the south stand don't sing, and
Vice versa, because of the way the sound travels in the stadium, because of the barrier of noisy away fans and, at big games, because of 'we are not standing alone till I die' syndrome, where both stands sing separate songs at the same time so the rest of the ground stay quiet.

That weird Villarreal game gave the wrong impression too because the gap was filled with non singing fans.

The club might have to spend a few grand on walls/fencing etc but they could definitely accommodate away fans on the other side of the ss
