800 people in seven years?

In 2019 alone Australia accepted around 15,000 refugees.

Boat turn backs are dangerous and stupid. ‘Very effective‘, not so much.

No idea. What’s that got to do with a dumb policy that results in sending back just over a hundred people a year? Might as well send them an airline ticket and process them on arrival. Be a lot fucking cheaper.

You said they were ‘very effective‘. I pointed out it didn’t seem that effective given the numbers involved. Sounds more like a Govt ‘virtue signalling’ how tough it was and spunking large amounts of cash in the process.

How can you say they aren't effective when you say they turned back 800 but have no idea if any got through?

If the policy was 100% successful then they spent navel resources turning back a grand total of 800 people over seven years.

What’s the point other than to play silly buggers with boats?
