How to play against Barcelona?

If I were Pellers my pre match speech would be

Right we are MCFC and we will score more and concede less than these fuckers, now go out there and play.

:-)

Barcelona approach have two main weaknesses. Firstly, they can be quite susceptible to pace, but also to brute strength and height. Apart from the goalkeeper and centre halves (not including mascherano) and busquets, they have no height at all. People have said they are susceptible to counter which may be, but they also have an ethos of kamikaze pressure upon the ball whenever they lose it. This can be quite effective against most teams who are not the most skilled technically and cannot control the possession, But when you can control the ball and get it past these players closing down, you will find that they are exposed defensively as massive pockets of space appear behind the midfield which are able to be attacked.

As well as this, Barca have virtually no experience playing when not dominating the attacks or possession. Most teams go up against Barca and challenge them to break them down, this is what they are used to. However, when the tables turn and the game is taken to Barcelona, as long as the team can regain their shape and defend when they lose the ball, Barcelona struggle.

-- Sat Feb 15, 2014 5:51 pm --

Sounds like Keegan!

5 at the back 4 in the middle and a big fucker upfront, fucking hoof it,playing for set plays ,long throws and corners, kick them off the park, pull, scratch and bite the fuckers,

Pull Busquets out of the central areas and attack Barça's central defenders at pace with the ball. It's harder than it sounds, but if we could pick up a draw against Barça using the same style than City could win it.

They are outstanding tonight against Rayo. 5-0 after 70 mins and have subbed Messi, who has been sensational and just broke the spanish all time scoring record. He never gets subbed so that's how serious they are taking Tuesday night
