How to tackle stoke...

We need to play our game. We are the better team, dominate possession and score the goals. we need to defend well when needed and get stuck in if they want a fight. take the game to them please. Glory awaits

we need to force stoke to play football... if we constantly pressurise them they havent got time to hoof.. then we have possession just keep ball and then look for silva to find that incisive pass to cut open there defence.
its what barca do to great effect

Keep a high back line as they don't have much pace up front, keep Adam Johnson right on the wing to stretch their defence, we can then either go through the middle or hit Adam wide, keep pressing them as their weakness will be rushing paces.Game won.

Nothing wrong with that, Just badly timed that's all.

Nothing wrong with that...? He's jumping into nige's foot!

Quite simple, we play like we did first half against Everton - don't defend deep and press the ball in the right areas.

Wembley is large picth so should suit or style of play more than theres (% football falls in line with a small pitch to keep things tight)

Assuming either Balloteli or Dzecko are on the pitch, how about standing one of them right in front of Delap when he takes a throwin? That way the ball has to be thrown upwards rather than straight across.
you have to be stood three yards away but still an interesting idea

Didn't realise there was a distance to be kept at - just checked FA website and it states 2 yards.

Congratulations to Stoke for qualifying for the Europa League.

They were very good when we played them at their place without too much long ball. But Wembley will not suit Delap.

We just need to take the game to them, not let them get any momentum.

Thought Richards played himself into the team, Johnson probably played himself out. What's the problem with Barry? Not even on the bench tonight.

I think Dzeko will definitely start. If only for his height when they have set pieces. I'd also be tempted to put Tevez on from the start, even though he looked a bit tubby tonight, instead of AJ. Let him run himself to death for an hour, get some tempo in our game.

Firstly we dont kick the ball out to touch and secondly if we do then make sure all of the towels have plenty of vaseline on them.
