How was your trip

Majority of City fans were great last night and atmosphere in bars near entrance 21 was brilliant. But I have a few criticisms:

Why does nobody sit down at away games?- the bloke next to me with a walking stick was having some problems standing for 90 mins. We used to criticise Utd fans for exactly this behaviour.

Much more importantly Why when a significant number of lowlife were throwing coins at the home fans over the netting do most City fans turn a blind eye and pretend its not happening - and it was , often. And I was in block 535 and they were coming from near the back

Didn't enjoy the Hillsborough /80's style of leaving the ground

To the City fan trying to start a fight with other City fans on the Diagonal after the game - why bother ? You ruin our reputation abroad.

To the bloke they thinks Mangala is the answer to our problems - lol- we will just have to agree to disagree.

"You're just a shit Crystal Palace" funniest song in the night as Messi was pulling us apart.

How did you manage to get a ticket for the game. It's clear that you've not don many (if any) away games before so I'm assuming that you didn't have the required amount of loyalty points. Strange that you'd moan about fans standing at an away game.

Then again at the Nou Camp last season there were plenty of blues sat down

as the row in front of me were sat down i did too. it was handy to be honest as i was fucked.

Haha, I rekon this was the reason for so many being sat down last season, I saw a few catching a few zzzz's too. I tried my best to stay in an ok state but wish I hadn't bothered as soon as I got up there. Great city though.

Fantastic trip all the way by train, bit knackering doing the lot in one day but just about recovered.
Mainly highs just the odd dickheads trying to spoil things by throwing objects over the mesh.
Why would the police not let you walk on the pavement after the game outside the stadium, got the impression they would have loved to of waded in.
Beautiful City, weather good, food and beer delightful.
All set for next year hopefully to a different venue!!
Off to WBA game now, hard life isn't it?

So is the local sniff any good then or what ?

Who was the fucker in the fountain in the square xD

There was a bar set back about 100 yards before the square, barrels as tables, the geezer in the fountain was in the bar about 12ish when me and my lad turned up,the geezer had a yaya shirt on and was absolutely wankered, was chucking jaeger bombs down his neck like they were going out of fashion, and that's about 10 hours before the game....the coin throwing was a joke,I was in 531 and there was handfuls of coins going over at a time.....for me though, the downside was the blues knocking fuck out of each other at the bottom of 531......

I heard there was a large group in the middle of block 531 all from the same supporters club, Who went down to the front and attacked a much smaller group of young lads ! Is this true ?? Because I got told there is a large group of lads from the ardwick/longsight areas that are going to the ground at weekend to track down the attackers. 3 pictures have been doing the rounds of the attackers around the longsight/ardwick/wgorton areas over the last couple of days so people know who they are looking for.
Sounds like the shit is gonna hit the fan bigtime.

I was row 34 in the block, had a pretty good view of the whole block, bar the few rows behind.I personally did not see a large group of lads move to the front, just saw a few lads beating shit out of each other at the front.....I thought maybe someone said summat regards the coin throwing and it escalated from there....I'd be guessing though.

Really enjoyed myself, great trip. The result was to be expected so it didn't take away from the experience. The highlight for me would have to be match day afternoon in the Placa Reial, just a superb atmosphere for a good few hours in the sunshine.

The Nou Camp really is a dilapidated old place, you can see why they are going to spend so much money on it, the concourse areas are just concrete hollows. Disappointing to see the coins being thrown over the netting and to hear about blue on blue fighting, of which I never saw myself. Irrespective of that I found the decision to keep us inside the ground for what seemed like an eternity ridiculous, followed by the decision to walk us out of the ground surrounded by riot police. It was such a heavy handed and unnecessary approach if you ask me. It was almost as it they wanted it to kick off, as an example I had to help pull a blue away from a copper who flicked his baton out without any provocation. Thankfully that's about as far as it went.

Anyway it sounds like I'm moaning too much when actually it was a really top trip. Loved the atmosphere and it sounds like we was lucky to avoid pick pockets and a minority of nob-heads, which you will get anywhere. All the blues I spent time with were smashing and I experienced no trouble apart from above.

Anybody see this.

Didn't want to add this to the last post and i wish i could start a new thread for it. Just want to say a massive thanks to Mac for sorting our transport out from Calella to The Nou Camp.
He organised a coach from Pineda/Calella to take people to Barca early doors with a return but due to late flights and health issues, he also arranged a minibus to first of all take my lad, Brother in law and two mates into Las Ramblas around half two. He came back to Calella then drove down again about half five with a couple of blokes with mobility problems and got them as close to Gate 21 as he could.
Directly after the match, he was waiting at the same place to get all six back to Calella.
A fantastic guy who even missed the match due to the Spanish Authorities taking the piss regarding a permit with the coach.
Cheers Mac (and Linda) and if we get Barca again next year, you'll be getting a PM from us.
Thanks again.

Totally agree, Mac & Linda do all they can to help Blues. Until next year......Stay safe !

the coin throwing was despicable. what on earth had the barca fans done to us? why pelt them with objects, what if they had hit a child. if you were one of those throwing coins and you are reading this next time stay away, we dont want you, you are just like the scum that throw coins at us in the south stand at our stadium. no regard for where it lands or who it may injure. and just for the record they didn't all reach the barca fans, some blues near me were hit. well done you fucking morons.

the spanish police are hooligans. it was actually ok in barca but what went on in Madrid a few years ago was nothing short of a disgrace. not sure i'll do barca again, perhaps i will but duck the game, the trip itself overall was great. well up untill a couple in our party decided to go just that bit far in the drinking department. they too were a disgrace.

Where in his post does he ever suggest that he condones the coin throwing, or could've been part of it.
