How will we replace Yaya Touré?

It is funny to me that people think Barkley is ANYTHING LIKE Yaya!?! Yaya is THREE TIMES the player Barkley is on a bad day for Yaya! People need to actually watch what Yaya does in a game before trying to figure out who COULD replace him. The only parson on ANY radar that comes close TODAY is Pogba, but even he is a different player that Yaya. Yaya is the quartz crystal in the watch. He keeps it ticking over and occasionally, when he sets off on a forward run into space, he sets off the alarm.

I honestly don't think there is another player on earth quite like Yaya, which means his "replacement" will require the other midfielders to pick up their games a bit.

And, finally, the day has arrived. Let's get this party started!!!

The reason Yaya is allowed the opportunity to dictate play is because our other midfielders have already been doing exactly that.Has Fernandinho's game evaded you?

Yaya is an incredible player. So intelligent with his decision making and technically excellent as well. There won't be a player that can do exactly what yaya does on the pitch. Just have to find a player with different qualities and attributes and move on.

Paul Pogba will be the replacement methinks. Maybe Barkley. Would've said Vidal in the past but I don't see us going for him in the future anymore.

take pogba all day long but although no mug i dont think vidal is as good imo.

Barkley is out injured for up to 8 weeks with knee ligament damage. Yaya only misses the odd game whilst Barkley is unlucky with injuries.

I agree that Pogba is the closest out there to Yaya but I don't think apogba's finishing is in the same league yet!

We will need to think about this one as both Yaya and Ferna are approaching 30 and we will need some legs in the engine room in the next year or two, but yeah a combo of Pogba and Barkley sounds good

We might need to sign two midfielders after garcia going to zenit and fernando is just what you call cant be bothered to play.

Next summer with the FFP spending sanctions lifted I imagine we'll be going balls deep for a Yaya replacement. Obviously not like for like, but someone who can play fast high press football. If there weren't so many doubts about his back I've loved Gundogan whenever I've seen him, but maybe there's a monster Pogba bid waiting in the wings.
