We might need to sign two midfielders after garcia going to zenit and fernando is just what you call cant be bothered to play.

really? so we got a player who doesnt want to play

Next summer with the FFP spending sanctions lifted I imagine we'll be going balls deep for a Yaya replacement. Obviously not like for like, but someone who can play fast high press football. If there weren't so many doubts about his back I've loved Gundogan whenever I've seen him, but maybe there's a monster Pogba bid waiting in the wings.
I reckon Ilkay Gundogan will be twice the player Yaya or Pogba is/will be if he recovers fully, very interesting to see how he gets on this season. Hope he does recover whether he's here or not, the lad is a gift to the entire game.

Barkley is a player with good box to box attibutes who operates in the #10 position. that doesnt make him a cm (yaya) or playmaker/AM (silva/nasri type). he also gets injured more

Pogba though is more close...lets see how good he is this season.

We'd probably get Pogba and Reus next summer for the price we'd have to pay for Barkley if he has a good season. Imagine adding those two to our starting 11 next summer.

Once upon a time a man called Carlos Tevez was one of the best players to ever don a City shirt. He handed in a transfer request and people panicked like crazy. We adapted by signing Agüero.

With Yaya I think it will be different. We won't try to sign a like for like replacement but I think the whole team will adapt to the hole left by him. I'm not worried at all.

We can sign someone who isn't like him at all and change the way we play slightly.

So rather than looking for a tall black midfielder, we can just look for the best available (or even not available!) midfielder and sign him.

Good point Kippax Citizen and this means the people we have in other midfield positions would have to be even better. I am thinking of people I the quality of Masherano and Schweinsteiger in the deeper roles (who won't be easy to sign).
