I think there should be some kind of recompense if fans, particularly travelling fans, get such a shit performance like last weekend. The travelling costs could be reimbursed and a free pie at the next home game. Mind, yer'd suddenly find that the whole of the SouthStand flew down to Southampton in private jets!

With so much money on the line, you'd probably have players injuring their teammates in training, and not passing to each other in front of goal.

It wouldn't have to be like that though. If we got them on a group bonus, so that for example the whole playing group gets a bonus for every goal scored or clean sheet etc. it'd be in everyone's interest to make sure we were firing on all cylinders. Put penalties in for goals conceded in the last 10 minutes and watch everyone track back then!!!

I worked for 13 years for a company that paid bonuses for group performance like that, and peer pressure pretty quickly gets everyone working together.

a basic pay of say 100k with million squid bonus for every trophy, or sumit along those lines, surely a huge bonus for a title etc would spur them on.
personally i think 100k is more than enough for the top players today, the bubble will burst eventually, thats one thing history has taught us
