How would season ticket holders react to compulsory CL home tickets?

Work away from home during the week so midweek travel to Manchester is usually out - unless I happen to be located in the North West at the time of course.
I'd probably give up my ticket if it was enforced.

Why don't you enjoy the Champions League?
It's the ultimate test for a club side. It's been an absolute pleasure watching the worlds best players play at the Etihad. The League cup and FA cup have their place but the champions league makes a team world famous. We've done small time. It was great while it lasted but it's time to move on.

You may value celebrity status, but whoppy doooo..... I don't watch city because of who's playing, I watch them because it's my local club.
I'd watch us play on a park "small time"
What a vile comment to make.

And I don't like the chumps league matches because the atmosphere has been absolute dog turd, taken over by happy clappers, half n half scarf wearing tourists and it's been shit.
I might as well watch it at home.

I have however travelled all over Europe watching city in CL matches as the away crowd has mostly been regular match going blues, and more authentic city as I know it.

I'll keep my small time thank you... Fuck off and support real Madrid if you like the big time

Yep, pretty much all of this, also how come its called "Champions League" when you can finish 4th in your given league and still win the damn thing ?

It would be interesting to know what percentage of current seasoncard holders attend the CL games.

Where I sit it can't be more than 15% or so, and I've spoken to blues who sit in other parts of the ground who have said more or less the same.

It's often said by pundits that we haven't embraced the tournament, and I go along with that. Even though I go to the games, it's not a competition that gets my pulse racing.

I'm always surrounded by people who don't know what to do other than spend most of their time filming the game on their I-pads, which doesn't generate any sort of atmosphere.

I wish we could recreate the noise we had when we played Hamburg, which has to be one of the best nights ever at the ground, but that was years ago when the tickets were dirt cheap and we didn't have money grabbers running the club.

Given so few regular supporters buy tickets for the CL games, I'd be amazed if they made it compulsory. If they do, I think they may be disappointed by the reaction.

I like to think they would be, because I'm at the tipping edge of renewing anyway, and after reading this, It would seem i'm not alone.

The atmosphere ain't any better in the league cup

True.... with CL football I find it rather boring on the pitch initially during the group stages... so I don't get hyped up for it.
Whereas with domestic cups it's a knockout from the first round.

Also, I find it boring as the same teams seem to be involved each season.

In the Europa league I preferred this as we played random teams which added to the atmosphere/sense of occasion.

But yes it's down to taste... some people don't like change, want to see Barca vs. Bayern every year and so on.

I should not be forced to buy something and if city did implement this I'd have to cancel my Season ticket or see how selling the ticket would work (which results in many empty seats for unsold games) unless I go :/
