Huddersfield child sex inquiry

I think this was the trial Tommy Robinson was locked up for disrupting , bail not given , contrast that with the fact that at least some of the defendants wee given bail ,one skipping off abroad still on the run !!
Robinson was locked up after being found guilty of contempt. He was released on appeal and has been on bail since. They were committed to trial at a hearing and the magistrates obviously felt that none of the well-defined exclusions to the automatic right to bail applied. They hadn't at that time been found guilty of any offence. So they got bail.

Robinson does seem to appeal to the hard of thinking.

Thank you very much , is it true one skipped bail and remains out there somewhere?

We have become so obsessed with labelling people racist for expressing any concern about a particular ethnic group, those in authority just say fuck it and turn a blind eye. I would not have risked my job / livelihood going after them, for fear of the do gooders trying to wreck my career. The ethnic minorities know they can always play the race card so they can do things that the majority would get banged up for.

With respect, that’s absolute shit.

It’s crazy how they seem unable to grasp basic facts, no matter how often you explain it to them.

I think the issue is whether you equate the fact that the majority convicted of these specific crimes are from a particular culture is endemic, or whether it is representative of other societal issues such as a propensity to investigate reports related to people from those cultures. I personally think other issues have led to a focus on people from that specific demographic, which magnifies the focus on unrelated reports. It is hard to contextualise though as few studies exist, so I can see why people might draw conclusions.

I was talking specifically about the inability of some of Robinson’s supporters to grasp the concept that he was jailed for contempt of court.

Agreed. Having your opinion found to be illegal and having the method by which you express that opinion found to be illegal are two very different things.

Seems so but at least he isn't coming back and he's not a burden on the state. But you can't lock up 20 people who are presumed to be innocent until their case has been heard because one might do a flit. The rules on granting bail are clear and well-established.

Surely propensity to evade the law should be a consideration? Flight risk is a significant issue.
