The problem is very simple.
In the vast majority of rape allegations
1. The identity of the victim is kept secret, by law, unless the victim agrees to disclose. Acting otherwise has led to prosecution.
2. The identity of accused is in the open, even before being convicted, no matter how ridiculous the charges.
Which in fact is unfair, given the possibility of fake cases, but apparently its to persuade other victims to come forward.
Those trying to attack Robinson very cleverly try to conflate the two.
But he or any other protestor (there wee plenty others before / after) did not try to violate rule 1, but were protesting abandonment of rule 2 specifically for this case.
And they have a point given the well established track record of something as wide spread as this being suppressed or glossed over.
