Hi I am a Huddersfield fan.
Some of the comments on here about us been so defensive are ridiculous.
We are not like the other teams in this league and just roll over for you all just because you are "bigger" and "better" than us
Every manager in the league has a game plan for every game.
Last season's Premier League table shows that you and Swansea had the worst goals for record (28). So that suggest you are a defensive side. That's the way it looked on MOTD too, and in the games between City and Huddersfield.

You don't need to be defensive about this. You are a newly promoted club and don't have the money City have had to spend. HTFC done great in my opinion but largely through being difficult to beat. No need to be defensive about that.

It's one thing parking the bus when you're a newly promoted club and another when you're Man Utd and have spent £330m net on players under Mourinho.

In any match, both teams ought to employ the best tactics/strategy - tailored to the opposition - giving the best chance at garnering at least a tie if not a win.

If Huddersfield succeed while parking the bus - so be it.

It's our responsibility to beat them, no matter how they play.

As a City fan - I've nothing against Huddersfield for playing the way they do.

As a fan of the game though - defense-first football is rather boring to watch. I much rather prefer attacking sides.

Huddersfield were the most defensive team we played last season, that is for sure. You did well out of it though and got a point at the etihad.
Not sure they were to be honest, certainly not at the Etihad, although at their place they were pretty defensive. Chelsea, Newcastle and one or two others were just as bad.

I don't blame them for playing to survive. Being in the PL is a big deal, and going out of it is a disaster. You do what you have to do.

That's why I, personally, would prefer a PL2, with money more evenly spread. That way relegation would no longer be a disaster and we might see more open football.

Huddersfield actually didn't park the bus for the first 35 minutes or so when we played them at the Etihad. They pressed extremely high and Wagner seemed to know something about our passing patterns and they did really well to prevent us controlling the game as we normally would exploiting it. The problem is that his tactics were outdone by the mere fact their approach was unsustainable and difficult to work for a full length of a match, so they got tired and retreated.

Then they parked the bus.

Dont know how you cant say against City in 2 games last season you werent defensives, as Huddersfield put 5 even 6 defenders across the 18 yard line. This is the perogative of your manager and club. Staying up for Huddersfield is probably the equivalent of City winning the league.

Who said anything about “bigger” and “better”?

It is an observation to be made that Huddersfield were one of the most defensive minded teams and had the fewest shots on our goal of any team we played all season. It’s our job to break that down but we’re not going to ignore it and wonder why we had a crick in our necks after our games with you.

In the second half at your place last season you had 37 passes of the ball and we had 336. You had 12 in our half, 1 in the last third and 0 in our box and 0 shots in the half and 0 shots on target all game. That’s a talking point that not only City fans made a thing of post-game.

It’s nothing to do with how good we are. It was a talking point for us when we played Boro about twelve years ago: we mullered them, hit the bar, hit the post, had one cleared off the line, had all the attacking play, they had no shots all game and won 0-1 with a Sun Ji Hai own goal...

There’s nowt wrong with anything you did, I enjoy a good defensive display like we had for Mancini’s first season with us, but don’t expect it to not be the main talking point in the run up in playing you again.
