—————-Trafford————-
Lewis-Stones-Ake-Mfuni
—Nunes-Gonzalez-O’Reilly
Bobb——Mukasa ?—-Savinho

Or Bobb at 10, Savinho right, Nunes left.

Might well need a couple of the bigger guns from the bench.

Trafford, Lewis, Stones, Ake, Nunez, Nico, Bobb and Savinho will certainly get a lot of playing time. That’s already 8. Musaka could be the inevitable number 9.

Will be a lot easier to predict the starting 11 and get close to a 100 percent call.

Anyways, not so long ago we played a PL-game at their ground. On paper we should be able to put a team out that is fresh and eager to go. In reality? We’ll see. Hope we get going in this competition as far as we can.

No last minute brain farts for fans going to this.

No trains beyond Stalybridge because Huddersfield station is closed for engineering work.

Shame as the station pubs at Stalybridge and Huddersfield are worth a visit.

Limited replacemt buses from Stalybridge (you may not get on if full) and diverted trains to Brighouse, which will involve a long walk, bus or taxi to Huddersfield.

Point being, allow plenty of time to travel if using the train.

Do we have any CF/Strikers in the youth team that can play upfront? I heard Mukasa is more of a 10. Would like to see us try a young lad upfront Tommorow instead of playing with a false 9.

100 %.....and that's without any transport hiccups.

Special bus's run every 4 minutes from Brighouse but demand will be high.

It's the biggest away following Huddersfield have handled for years !!

Allow plenty of time !!

We do, but they played last night. Sangare started and Warhurst came on. Mukasa is a 10, but he's scored a lot of goals from that position so he could work as a false 9.

Still unsure about how many changes we'll make.

Would expect Pep to look at who he wants to start against Burnley and maybe have some play 45 minutes to guide the squad players through.

30 or 60 minute game time for any A squad players depending on their fitness, condition & rhythm.

The bulk of the minutes should be taken by B squaddies & academy lads.

A good competitive game will be beneficial for all the players.

That's what I'd typically expect, but you're looking at:

Trafford, Nunes, Stones, Ake, Rico, Nico, Bobb, Savinho with three academy players if you go down that route. And I think Pep will want a little bit more experience in the midfield/forward line to guide the side through.

This is a competition that can bring the squad a lot of confidence so he'll want to win it. Defensively it's fine, with Mfuni coming in. But a midfield of Rico, Nico and Bobb is potentially a bit light against a lower league team that will get stuck in physically.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Bernardo chucked in personally.

It's a shame that Phillips isn't available for this, as it would've been an ideal game to use him in. Not entirely sure how we'll manage it now, but still don't think any of the XI that played the last three games should start. Maybe push Stones into midfield?

Trafford

Nunes
Ake
Mfuni
Brathwaite

Stones
Lewis
Gonzales

Savinho
Mukasa
Bobb

I keep seeing Mukasa mentioned in a lot of line up , know very little about him , is this the guy who scored against Salford last year?

I don't believe that a single starter for Arsenal or Burnley will play tonight. We are still in pre-seaon mode a bit and it's been a tought 10 days. For me the only question is whether he will put the likes of Phil, Bernado, Doku and Haaland on the bench in case we need to come from behind later in the game. That's the usual way.

We both need this competition (game time for fringe players) and don't need it (extra fixtures). I guess how seriously Pep takes it might depend on whether he considers us capable of winning the Champions League with this squad.
