HUGE dilemma :(

Work mate without a shadow of doubt. Without being all sensible on your arse, are kid, (my sis), has been looking for work for ages now. Skilled in IT and telecoms, she can't find anything and is really struggling now. If you have been offered a job, in todays climate especially, take it mate.

tell them you have big arrangements them 2 nights that you cant get out of.....and just see if they still offer you the job
This, if you're sure being sick will put the job at then try the honest way, no harm in asking right?

As far as the sicky goes, in my home town it'd be pretty obvious to any employer with a brain if someone was "sick" on two derby days in quick succession, would've thought it'd be the same in Manchester?

Is there no way at all they would allow you to have those two days off? You booked them well in advance to getting the job and usually new jobs allow employees who have booked a holiday in advance to getting the job to have the time off. So they should be able to allow you those two days off as you already bought the tickets if most jobs allow holidays that have already been booked. Anyway good luck with the tickets and the job mate!

Im going to be doing 12 hour night shifts for 6 weeks with no days off. I cannot blag being ill or i will risk being sacked or not being given anymore work.

It's usually the case that a new employer will honour previously booked holidays but it could be difficult in this climate and the fact most employers are self important arseholes with no life. Look into it though.

Id ask m8 for the nights off, and with any luck yer boss will be a blue and understand, oh and by the way im an employment advisor lol(really)

I should probably have just said 'all my previous employers' anyway so as to not offend anyone :)
