hugh feriss again

Can't stand the bollocks he does at half time and don't want to hear fans talking utter shite on the big screen.

However, at both the fans forum earlier in the season and last night I thought he did a decent job. Pretty relaxed and natural, without any stupid questions and the odd glimpses of some sort of knowledge.

So I will give him another chance. And I am a miserable bastard, so for him to partially win me over is praise indeed.

Please tone it down at half times though.

-- Tue May 24, 2011 7:21 pm --

I cant believe no one has mentioned when he "Ferris" introduced Mancini as the manager who led us to third place in the CHAMPIONSHIP class A nobhead

So what. "The league championship" is an acceptable term for the top flight of English football for anyone who has been watching football for more than 5 years.

I give him more football fan credit for mindlessly using that term than I do to people moaning about it.

"The league championship" is something we won in 1968. "The premiership" is something we just finished 3rd in. ANY FOOTBALL FAN and anyone with either a microphone or a keyboard would know that.

Albert Sq in particular was ruined by the insistence on playing everything at the highest volume possible.

Whenever one song finished the crowd would start to get a song going which was then volumed to death by the next song.

I wasn't there for a fucking pop concert.

Whoever's in charge (is anyone in charge ?) of this flouncing Ferris muppet must tell him that he's there to act as an announcer not to ramble on like he's a radio DJ

There can't have been one person in Albert Sq who would not have enjoyed themselves more had the PA system been turned on ONLY when the team actually appeared.

Agreed - Wish we could just have some city time instead of listening to whatever it was, it kills the football atmosphere .

I think he's a pratt and he asks the most awkward questions in the most awkward way, I cannot stand the fact he is on at the start of every game he infuriates me and has no real link to the club I would rather have someone like scully on like a proper fan or an old city player or legend also I think there needs to be less music in the stadium as I think the fans are bringing back the maine road atmosphere and yeh maybe play the start of bluemoon at the start but let us carry it on. But get rid of him 100%

He's a rag please tell me you knew that already Wheelsy and are just taking the piss

I bumped into Hugh Ferris after the celebrations tonight in City Square and asked him if he was a rag - NO, he's a Southampton fan born and bred.

Had a chat with him and he's a decent bloke. He's perplexed someone posted on here that he was a rag cos he isn't. I told him that me and the lad who was with me found 'Fan Zone' Danny cringeworthy and that he needed professional training. If you ever heard anything that worse than him I can't belive it, try his usual tripe 'Hello, and who's your favourite City player? What do you think the scores going to be today?' Shit who's this guys scriptwriter. Well Ferris stuck up for him and said that Danny was a natural in front of the camera and the patter would come with experience. fair play to the bloke.

Ferris knows that he gets alot of grief on BlueMoon and is at a loss as to why. Decent bloke doing a professional job.

Haha thanks for that mate. It is very difficult when speaking Live to kids to ask them something too complex "hello little girl can you tell me the advantage of Mancini playing a 4-4-2 today" in front of thousands of fans it's hard to get anything out of them with them being nervous so I try to ask them something simple that they can answer quickly and easily.

To defend myself a little it's nerve wrecking for me doing it, I'm not media trained and this sort of thing is out of mine and most peoples comfort zone but TBH I'm just doing the best I can. I know it aint brilliant but I'm just like any other Blue on here but am lucky to have been given a crack at something like this, when all said and done I am a fan tho and not a presenter and TBH I wouldn't want to change that! Anyway I have enjoyed the ride this season both on and off the pitch and If I am asked to do something next season I would love some sort of training and would love a script writer even more!! ;o) .......

As for Hugh, I think he really is a good guy and does a great Job, he has helped me loads since I have been doing it and definitely isn't a rag fan!
Danny remember any critics you or Hugh Ferris may have only exist on Bluemoon. You should be honoured becuase the same suspects slag off the Manager, the players and club on a daily basis. They are the same ones who will always post and link the negative shite to try and undermine the club they claim to support.
