Please don't shoot the messenger, I am not the sort to go around making up bullshit.

My source here is second hand but I thought this was worth passing on.

A bloke who works for me and is a mate plays a lot of golf and is a Blue. He played at the weekend with someone who who says is "in the know". He named him but I didn't know who he was, but my mate said he is normally fairly reliable and knows people on the inside.

Anyway, there's nothing major here but he said that after Elano was in the press saying he was happy, Hughes called the players together and told them in no uncertain terms that if they had anything to say to say it to him. Then he said to Elano "I'll see you in my office now" in front of everyone. Then he made him wait outside his office for over an hour.

More interestingly, he also said that ADUG are asking serious questions about Hughes, but Garry Cook is fending them off and is insisting they don't do anything rash and Hughes needs time. So it is Cook who is saving Hughes's skin at the moment.

As I said, nothing major but I thought it worth passing on.

Doesn't surprise me after what cook said.
Probably true.

Cook seems to have a lot of time for Hughes.

And personally, i think that if what your saying is true, then Hughes handled the Elano situation well.

Absolutely. Elano needed to be made an example of after going to trhe press rather than Hughes.

If I was at work and was spouting off to everyone about my manager and not going to him, I would expect nothing less than the old "My office. NOW!!" in front of everyone. Footballers should be no different.

Well Hughes is Cooks man more than the owners.

Cook probably fears for his job should Les be dealt with.

Its about time we had a strong manager. Lets hope results pick up and Hughes can get the right people in.

It takes time to change the culture at a losing football club.

Strong is one's thing, but leaving him waiting for over an hour? That's just bad mannered and arrogant. The bloke actually said it was 2 hours but I reduced it to allow for the exaggeration factor..

2 hours is ridiculous, very arrogant from Hughes

I have no issue with Hughes calling, anyone he sees fit out, hell I have done the same as a manager in my line of work. However making anyone wait 1 hour after saying see me in my office now, is fucking stupid and if true I have lost ALL my respect for him as a man and as our manager.

I'd have left him there all day, if he put as much effort on the pitch as he did moaning he'd be alright.
