Hughes at Stoke

Didn't think he was that bad overall during his time at City but the club were right to get rid when they did.
His biggest mistake was the vanity signing of Crocky Santa Crock.

Santa Cruz had a good goal scoring record though, and at that point city were not going to be able to attract the absolute best. Not 100% but didn't santa cruz go on to do pretty well down the line at other clubs?

Santa cruz was another bony really, cant get them all right.

He'd had injury issues and was crocked when we bought him, and crocked most of his time at the club.

That logic would make more sense if he didn't buy Tevez and Adebayor about a week later.

A decidedly average manager who wouldn't have taken us anywhere. He's best left as a manager to get the best out of an ugly team. He had us in the relegation zone at fucking Christmas after the takeover and spunking money everywhere.

He was the man to get us a draw from a winning position, wasn't he?!
When he was appointed, my view was that he was the best British manager we could get, so I was happy enough with his appointment. Shame it didn't work out for him, but the next 18 months under Mancini will never EVER be forgotten. In retrospect, I don't think he ever could have given us that.

Fair comment, i suppose he saw santa cruz as decent backup. Perhaps Tevez wasnt nailed on when cruz arrived? It was a rather gung ho period of buying for city at that time.
