Hughes calls for clarity over Tevez row, MuEN block comments

My tuppence worth.....

Couldn't give a flying fuck about negative slants and if as a club we fuck up then we deserve to have it reported and im sure that the vast majority of blues feel the same way.

What has to stop though is the downright blatant lies that is peddled on an almost daily basis.

Papers are there to report the news and not the bile filled jealousy that manifests itself in blatant lies that we see all the time.

SB has already admitted that at times the MEN will file a AP piece and its these reports that get the backs up of many.

Maybe the MEN should ask themselves if its worth doing that from now on or if they should invest a little more time and effort in the Cities club they represent and have their own reports instead?

Headlines and agenda driven slants obviously do work for the national media but they wont work for a local paper like the MEN.

I don't dispute for a second that certain journalists take a negative slant on our club , and I have seen outright lies in the media on a regular basis. Someone this week, in one of the broadsheets based a section of a piece on the lie that mcc had wholly funded city's move to coms. We've got people with vested interests inside and outside the club leaking stories too. But we don't help ourselves in that respect-we are quite a turbulent and political club behind the scenes.

But the men is not the enemy and, like oakie, I don't like being told "here's what to do". I also don't really like a decent journalist with the balls to come here joining the ranks of the media who reciprocally think all city fans are knobs.

This is called agenda driven bias fuelled by fear, envy and hatred.

Whilst it's refreshing to have a journalist from the local paper on the board, and also good that posters engage in discussion without resorting to rants or obscenities, the basic premise was not answered
Why is it that the comments of city fans on the features are often blocked
Why is it that the rags are given a more sympathetic treatment than city and
Why isn't it that the local paper can't find a journalist with a leaning toward city to write the reports

It was interesting to note that in an earlier post SB basically said he was the only one left to cover city, ideal qualifications for the role it would seem

No it's not. It's sections of the press doing what they have always done and spinning things to write stories which sell papers.

Sun readers don't pick up a paper which has a front cover which says "Jordan gives money to charity ", but they do pick one up which says "Jordan splits with lover".

And we are the Jordan of the football world.

This forum is about opinions and it's only right that we don't agree all the time.

Sadly it appears that if you don't agree with certain posters then you are paranoid,
well I would rather be classed as paranoid than agree.

Certain posters on here truly believe they speak for everyone.

You don't say!!!

This x 10

They know who they are

that's all perfectly true but the merciless relish with which, for example, Murdoch owned enterprises seek to damage City, as dangerous competitors to their own preferred and much invested in partners, is an editorially driven economic agenda. The same goes for the Mirror group.
