Hughes ineptitude highlighted for all to see

It also takes a bit of dignity to admit you were wrong. He did a bad job, terrible in fact considering what he was given.

You try and put a negative spin on another excellent result. Maybe you should concentrate on a brilliant performance and the new manager that produced it rather than clutching at straws trying to justify the previous flawed regime and those trying to damage our club?

Still amazes me that people that claim to support city would try and be negative and try and take the gloss of what is another excellent result. I thing people should focus on what is best for the club, I really dont want to hear about MH again TBH.

huhh? I didnt see any brilliant performance. Excellent result admittedly but its obvious we still have a long way to go to make a sustained push for a top four spot. Mancini has had two games in charge, he may have done things slightly differently than Hughes would have done in those two games but to be thinking of him as our new Messiah who will lead us to the promised land is premature to say the least. The hardest task that our new manager will have is patently obvious and that is to instill confidence. He has the perfect opportunity to do so in our next run of games in the league given the opposition. The real test, and when I will begin to judge the merits of Mancini, is when we start to play (supposedly) tougher teams. If he can show consistently we have what it takes to compete on an even keel with the likes of the scum, arse (not their second team) the chavs (not on their current form) and villa, I will begin to believe that Mancini is capable of doing something that other managers, including Hughes could not.

For me personally, it's the simple things that we are now doing better. Two players on the posts for corners and the fullbacks not progressing too far when we are attacking. The midfield look like they are defending better and keeping their shape when under the cosh. For me, these are basics. No doubt MH gave his best for the club, but sadly it wasn't enough. I know it's only been a couple of games but we do appear to soak up pressure better than we did previously. The futures bright!!

I was one of the most vocal in arguing that a manager needs time and that we would not achieve our full potential until next season. I wasn't happy when they sacked Hughes but can understand why the owners thought it was necessary. So I've accepted the situation and we've done well enough in the two games since Mancini's been in charge to make me happy and even quite excited that we can finish in the top 4.

But some of the Highes-out mob, who have been telling us to get over it, move on and support the club still com on here starting threads like this.

Why don't you practice what you preach AND FUCKING GET OVER IT.

Backed him to the hilt whilst he was here, hoped and really believed he would come good.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but he just wasn't upto it. I thought he represented our club with dignity, but there are a few million reasons why I dont feel sorry for him,

Onwards and upwards

Great.

Hughes got us to a semi final. Much more than any other manager in the last 20 years ever did.

Let's thank him and move on.

Totally agree.
Name a manager in the last 20 years that had anywere near the talent and resources that Hughes had.

We could have had stuart pearce in charge and still got to the semis of the Carling cup...

PS: This isnt a dig at Mark Hughes.

This is why I despair at delusional City fans who have no grasp on reality

You couldn't be more wrong, the reason Hughes failed had nothing to do with the points we took off the "better teams" It was all to do with taking 23 points out of 84 points on the road, which if it wasn't for our great home form(something that SGE team also had)we would have been in real trouble last year. Mancini's team won 3-0 away, first attempt, if Mancini sorts out the away form we will finish 4th.

I was glad to hear from quite a few players in interviews that Mancini says to them, "Long ball is always a last resort, always on the floor".

I really like those tactics.

Not petty sport on by the original poster. Face facts HBughes did a shit job. We had the second worst defence in the league going into this game. When was the last time Hughes kept back to back clean sheets and won 3 games ont eh spin. Obviously Mancini doesnt fancy passing up the opportunity of a life time unlike Hughes.

Maybe you should look at things in perspective before you post. SO pleased Hughes has gone and very pleased with how it was handled personally.

Maybe YOU should look at what has transpired over the last 18 months. Hughes got us to sixth and to a semi final.

You can talk all you want about money etc etc but the fact is Hughes did what he was asked to do.
It takes a bit of dignity to say thank you and then move on.

Clearly he didn't.

Which suggests to me its all about confidence...were safe at home...when we play away we look shaky to say the least and I havent seen anything to convince me otherwise with Mancini...yet. The chances are that if we played a more capable team and gave the same performance we wouldnt have got the result we did. You cant possibly say that Mancini has 'got it right' or 'is on the right track' Its wayyyyy to early for that.
