i like parker and i've got to admit i haven't been overly impressed with de jong so far. saying that though i think they're a different type of midfielder to each other so you can't really compare them.
i think given a full pre season with the squad de jong will start next season looking better than he does now. in de jong's position his job is to stop the opposition coming forward and give the ball to one of our players in space, once he gets used to everyones movements and gets on the same wavelength as the rest of the team i think we'll concede less goals and get forward quicker as well.

De Jong's job is to break up the opposition's attacks and get the ball away as quickly as possible to the nearest City player. And he does it very well, but by the very nature of the job, it doesn't stand out. If you were expecting a box-to-box midfielder with a superb range of passing that can unlock the opposition's defence, then of course you were going to be disappointed.

And whats that gotta do with it??? the Dutch are regarded as one of the best footballing teams in international football what I said fits you don't get into their team on a regular basis for being a poor player. Looking through the thread a fair few others are also agreeing he is a good player he fits our needs as I said a spoiler not pretty on the eye but effective.
