Hughes the master tactician

moomba, the voice of balance and reason. The man who has torn up his season ticket now Bellamy has signed.

I don't think we've ever met.

So why do you think you know enough about me to suggest that any action I decide to take is unbalanced or unreasonable?

Exactly, playing poorly and winning is certainly better than playing badly and losing, which has been the norm for us for to long.
No doubt, even though I prefer playing well and winning.

Hughes is slowly turning the ship round. It just so happens its the size of the QE2 and will take longer than alot of people think. he needs time and i for one hope to god he is here for a long time. He is stabilizing us. Something that no manager has managed in over a decade.
I hope you are right, but I still would prefer Mourinho. Hughes still has everything to prove, and I don't know if losing 0-1 to Stoke down to ten men is "turning the ship around". Todays victory gives him a little more time, and I hope to God that he uses that time to improve his tactics.

I used the same argument last season about Sven as you do now, so I do understand your point of view.

No one is getting carried away, most of us recognise problems when we see them, and most of us know that sometimes you play crap and win, it happens to all teams, and don't fucking patronise us!

Sorry, didn't mean to patronize anyone. As I just said, there is no problem playing like crap when we get away with it. The problem is that we have played a lot of crappy games which we have lost.

Wouldn't it be better to try to improve the crappy way of playing instead of being happy to win crappy points?

I also said that the second half was a lot better than the first, and i hope it is the start of a long lasting improvement.

So we are playing one of the worst sides in the division not an away game in 12. So what do ?
Bring back Elano and break them down with his passing ?
No you play 2 defensive midfielders and real backs to the wall stuff type defending.

WTF is going on we are home 40,000+ fans and we are playing as we're against one of the top 4

Blah blah blah /\

We won, 3 points in the bag, Should have scored more had or front line started shooting instead of trying to pass the thing into the net.

Much to admire. We battered them first half. Hit the bar. Could have scored 3 or 4.

A decent performance and I am encouraged by what I am seeing and the difference that Hughes's own signings are making. We are improving all over the pitch and look much more solid in defence, and that bodes well for next season as far as I'm concerned. Once we can crack this crappy away form then we are rock 'n' rolling.

It could have been 4-4 at full-time if everyone had taken their chances and to be honest we did look a bit shaky at the back. Zabaleta had an iffy game, spells of the game he was tackling well and getting forward, but for the majority of it his passing was fairly poor. Thought the Robinho change was decent from Hughes, Robinho was crap today, had one or two moments of spark and Caicedo did well to hold up the ball when he came on and gave us that physical presence we lacked upfront. Richards was pretty dire again. Bellamy continues to shine and work hard. Ireland was decent for most of the match, but Given has to take MotM award for making 4 fantastic saves and getting us the 3 points.

I wouldnt say the saves were fantastic, none of them would make a top 20 save of the season DVD, and Given was merely doing his job, keeping a clean sheet and being in the top 3 keepers in the Prem.

To fair to the OP he says the same thing every match, don't think he has got anything positive to say about us, I bet he is gutted that we won

My only link to City for the past three years and Bluemoon has gradually turned to 'Blueiknowbetterthaneveryfckerevenmarkhughestheragtwatandifwewinitsstillfckinshittheragfcker!!!moon'. What happened to lads who knew about football?

Lol!

How true.

I thought it was a good, hard fought win and their keeper was equally as important to Boro as Given was for us. Their goalposts also stopped a goal and there were a few near misses. 4-3 to us would have been a fairer reflection, but 1-0 is perfectly OK; haven't the rags won quite a few games 1-0 home and away against teams many bluemooners would have us believe WE should be thrashing by a cricket score? Football just doesn't work like that!

we played crap and won.

Surely that's an improvement on a game we would have lost in the old days.
