If there was nothing going on then the club should have come out and categorically denied this especially considering we are only hours away from a home game kick off. I'm no Hughes supporter but it cannot be right to have the manager facing his own crowd with all this added pressure in the background. Therefore I think there has to be some truth in this speculation and Hughes himself may have already been told . I don't see it as the press trying to destabilise us other than just reporting a story they have information on. I know the press have never been pro-City but I also don't think they have an hidden agenda against us.
For what its worth I was told last season when Hughes was under pressure that Mancini was approached along with two or three others.
