Hulk - Porto

We have been linked with him recently. I have watched him a few times and he has impressed me quite a bit to be fair, what would you lot think if he signed?

He likes to play on the wings, mostly through the right. He's very strong and fast, his accelerations are killers (check our 5-0 win against Benfica earlier in the season), his left foot is quality (passing, finishing, long range shooting, crossing, he does it all)and he's pretty good technically. His decision making still isn't great though, his right foot is pretty much non existent and he has a big problem against tight defences.

If you want a target man though, he is definitely not the one for you. He's like 1.80m and hardly ever goes for aerial duels. I see Hulk as a replacement for Tevez, but not to lead the line, instead to play off someone.

The problem I have with this guy is I have the feeling that he will fare quite similar to how Jo has, especially when he first joins. I think he has more quality about him than Jo, and is better physically than Jo, and, after a while, he will settle into the League and start to produce some quality. But, even so, I don't think he will ever set the league alight. Would be interesting to see how he'd get on in Spain.

I'd much rather we went for our other linked targets than him.

We already confirmed inteest in him but its not possible to get him in january. The interview was posted on another topic.

Even if we do get him we still need someone like Dzeko.

He's good but I've watched him a few times now and he seems very predictable...

"oh I wonder what he's going to do?!?!

Oh yes that's right, his going to cut in on his left foot!"

He could have problems against any top 8 team IMO.

Lets just keep AJ, who is also a tiny bit younger and English ;P

Although he could be better/less predictable if we played him behind someone like Dzeko, instead of on the wing (Only if Tévez leaves ofcourse)
