What did Hart do wrong in the Chelsea match? We need a settled number 1, no chopping and changing. Hart doesn't need a rest.
This. Dropped after two strong matches doesn't make sense. He wouldn't be dropped if this match had been vs a stronger team so all it does is sending a message to the playeres that this will be an easy match. Not too clever IMO.

I don't think the opposition today has much to do with Hart being on the bench.

Champions League is more important this season and it is still a strong line up for this game.

Happy with that team.
Got a bad feeling about today though.
Champions shouldn't feel like this but for a lot of folk "typical City" will be a long time going away.
As for dropping/resting Hart, Pellegrini has made his doubts about him & his liking for Caballero plain, so maybe this is where Willy gets a run in the team.

You may not agree but it is.
based on what? that caballero is in goal?

By playing Hart in the vital game in the Champions League game against Roma.
that doesn't tell anything really, when you look at todays lineup nothing suggests that CL is number 1 priority. You can also say to counter that, that Demichelis may play against Roma as Mangala plays now 3rd game in a row, which is a downgrade.

if thats the case why haven't we rested aguero, yaya or silva. The goalkeeper isn't exactly someone you rotate

Better to take off Aguero, Yaya or Silva when we are couple of goals up than sub the keeper.

Again we can sub the key outfield players when we are in control of the game.

Pellers has said recently that we've got two number 1's, Hart's not being "dropped"

The fact is we play a squad game now with every player including Captain Vinny. If we play the way we can today, it wouldn't matter if Perry Suckling was in net.

It's the Holistic approach ;-)

he has been dropped. you dont rotate a keeper, especially one has been playing so well recently. Keepers play better and get the sharpness from playing . this decision makes no sense. vinny wouldn't get dropped an is gonna play every game, we have a core of players who won't be dropped.

Its true every player has to be on the top of his game.

If that's the case the result will take care of itself.

If you are off your game both individually and collectively any team in the premier league can topple you.

No one player will start in every premier league game and every chumps league even if available.

Our keeper is as good as the support he gets from all outfield players.

Strange decision to leave out Hart. Unnecessary, and difficult to see what we hope to gain - other than just giving Caballero game time.

If he fucks up, it costs us. If he has a great game, it could present a dilemma in terms of selection going forward, and run the risk of unsettling the back four.

If the decision had been made after Stoke, I could understand. But since then Hart has been solid, and excellent in Munich. To leave him out now - whether notionally rested or otherwise - seems daft.
