Hull Vs City Post Match Thread

Heroes. Fucking heroes to a man. Guts, battle, guile...the lot. It was incredibly tense but the truth is they barely threatened us. That will shut some of the knee jerk knobs up, and could be a platform to build the rest of the season on.

Please let Chelsea drop points today. Please.

This. If we play with the same guts and determination for the rest of the season Vinny will be holding that trophy aloft in May, no doubt about it.

(Bit frustrated we didn't play with the same effort last Sunday but trying to forget that today!)

It was strange watching us play counter attack today, especially against teams that are going to set up defensive and try to catch us on the break like Hull, they didn't know what to do, they didn't have the quality to break us down, we looked really strong even with 10 men!

Plenty of criticism of the ref today, but has anyone mentioned the great game the linesmen had?
Got everything spot on.

Don't think so and very good point - called all the offsides correctly

Just got home from the game so not got time to read 33 pages!!

Thank goodness he took Ya Ya off because he was a passenger. What is it about him? He can be so good and then so poor!!

But what a game, they were magnificent, the team spirit was brilliant. Demichelis more than made up for his errors over the last weeks and he and Garcia justified their selection today.

Don't think Vinnie should have been sent off, it happened right in front of where I was sitting and it was all wrong!! As for that Hull player spitting or attempting to spit at Joe that should be sorted by the FA.

David Silva and Zaba Men of the Match. Lescott played well when he came on as well.

Agree - Yaya is great when we have the ball but poor when we don't. The team were great today but I was disappointed with Yaya's work rate at times. I personally don't think he can play in a midfield 2, best position behind the striker.

The linesman missed the assault on Silva, it was right in front of him and he didn`t even flag. But alls well in the end.

We need to tell our players to pressure the referee more. That assault on Silva just got a few of our players raising their arms and shouting, if a few of them had kicked off a bit and surrounded Elmohamady it will certainly influence the referee's decision - I don't want us to turn into Chelsea where we just crowd the referee but at times, like today, it may have influenced the correct decision being applied.
