Hull Vs City Post Match Thread

Sorry, can't be bothered trolling through 33 pages today before commenting, lazy I know. Just wanted to say the crowd support was fantastic today (via tinternet) and must have made up for the loss of Vinny. Have we sorted out a song for Silva as he was my man of the match today. Great all round performance and what a good post match interview from Garcia and Fernandinho.

Keep the Faith, fingers crossed the Russians drop points.

Plenty of criticism of the ref today, but has anyone mentioned the great game the linesmen had?
Got everything spot on.

Don't think so and very good point - called all the offsides correctly

The high line was wonderfully executed by our back four. As well as I've ever seen it played.

I loved Edin's interview post match where he said that "Vinny is our captain, our Leader and our Heart"

I couldn't be prouder of the boys today- Lionhearts is not even close to describing them!

By a back four who'd never played together either. Before the game if that had been announced as the starting CBs we'd have thought Pellegrini had officially lost the plot

The linesman missed the assault on Silva, it was right in front of him and he didn`t even flag.

We need to tell our players to pressure the referee more. That assault on Silva just got a few of our players raising their arms and shouting, if a few of them had kicked off a bit and surrounded Elmohamady it will certainly influence the referee's decision - I don't want us to turn into Chelsea where we just crowd the referee but at times, like today, it may have influenced the correct decision being applied.

Couldnt agree more, I was thinking exactly the same thing...

He made one good header in our box - it's a shame he doesn't show the same desire at the other end. He was shocking again today i started to lose count of the number of times he gave it away. He is the weakest 6ft person I;ve ever seen when going up for headers. Silva embarassed him today showing him how to chase round instead of strolling around.
I saw it the same as you, yes defensively he does OK, but he's not really on the pitch for that is he ?

With 10 men for 80 minutes, we needed him to keep the ball, I'd say he was about 50/50 with that, he won virtually nothing in the air against Davies, OK nothing more,

His movement (or lack of it) in and around the box was poor, several good moves broke down as he was either not moving, in the wrong place, or moving the wrong way. He's paid to be a striker, today he was our only striker, in a team a man short, he didn't 'run his bollocks off' at all.

He got the goal in the end, and good finish it was, but the miss before that could easily have cost us 2 points, and had all that hard work by the others, not been rewarded because he missed another simple chance at the end, he would have been absolutely hammered on here tonight.

Anyway after the performance today I'd rather focus on the good things, and there were plenty of those, Hart looked back to his best, the defence were superb, and Zab offered a lot going forward despite us only having 10 men, Clichy had probably his best game of the season, the midfield
were just brilliant, Silva probably one of his best games for the club, Fernandinho excellent.

On Vinny, he takes too many risks, and today it cost him, though why the ball had gone back there in the first place I don't know, we'd been on the attack, and a little pressure from Hull caused us to flap, Vinny had a poor touch, then made a daft decision to go back to Hart, lost the ball (whether fouled or not), and then made an even dafter decision to pull the lad down. Not his finest moments in a blue shirt.

Feared the worst when the red was shown but a brilliant performance and victory. Javi Garcia very good. David Silva absolutely on a different level.

Chelsea down to 10 men.

Life is good.
