Hungary v England | Nations League | Sat 4th June '22

Shit match to watch.

The England defence is shambolic without Stones, which is unfortunate when watching from a City point of view and hoping he gets enough of a rest to be ready at the start of next season.

Bellingham and Rice don't quite click together (yet?), Mount might as well have not been on the pitch, and it's the worst I've ever seen TAA play.

He can't thump it up the wing for Salah to chase after! His defending is grim at the best of times, and he's lauded and praised by loads beyond the Dipper Diaspora. They go on and on about his 'assists' - how many of those weren't corners or a bloody great hoof up the pitch? How many assists were from a well-crafted reverse pass that split a defence?

Can't say I've followed his career too closely but every time I've seen him he's looked like a half-decent footballer but miles off Klopp's "best right-back in the world" rhetoric.

Tonight he looked absolute dog-shit, and his famous corners were appalling.

It's Walker then James for me for England right now, probably with a transition to first choice for James over the next couple of years as he moves towards his peak and Kyle moves away from his.

TAA needs to be working to prove he can offer more than a reliable but ageing Trippier, or an inexperienced but promising Lamptey, before he gets anywhere near the conversation about who's number 1.

Only just saw this took place. Not that I’d have watched. I’m assuming it was a shit as a 1-0 defeat just after the season ended suggests.

Just hope all City players for their various international teams stay fit and get a good rest over summer. International football is bobbins.
