I am an England fan, despite my loathing of Gareth Waistcoat. I also find myself buying into this qualifying stage. Occasionally though I remember it’s for a World Cup I have no intention of watching. It’s THE most bent award of a tournament in sports history. It disrupts our domestic season to play football in a corrupt tournament award in air conditioned stadiums. I’d send a team made up of players from the Vanarama Conference and carry on with our domestic football programme.
I know football, like lots of sports is bent. But this World Cup removes the last fig leaf of integrity.
